Manager - Leisure & Retail Travel

Job Purpose

Direct, control and manage all aspects of the Retail & Leisure activities;
develop business plans; oversee planning and implementation of business plan;
lead the implementation of new operational initiatives, resource allocation,
organisation structure, and leadership towards achieving the company's
strategy, growth, and profit objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Manage the department revenue targets and profitability, as well as for the
budgeting and effective utilisation of overhead expenses, manpower resources
and capital expenditure
* Responsible for achieving and reporting against financial targets laid out in the annual budget. Monitor and review financial performance against budget on a regular basis
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the respective branches, ensuring the highest possible service and safety standards for both customers and staff
* Identify new markets and manage sources of business that present additional revenue earning opportunities and establish sales and marketing plans with the business development units
* Managing the GSA/Partner products sales/marketing & revenues and teams, including expansion of distribution network within the relevant GCC / Middle East markets.
* Manage the relationship building activities of the team to ensure optimum rates with airlines, hotels and overseas DMCs for their customers
* Analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results and maintain an up-to-date data of all competitive marketing activities
* Provide information on market opportunities and competitor activity to assist in the development of new product and sales plans
* Oversee the business to business Sales

Job Requirements

Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in a related discipline
Experience
* At least ‎8 experience in Leisure & Travel
Knowledge & Skills
* Thorough knowledge of IATA rules and regulations involved in the operational area of a travel agency
* Knowledge of key account management
* Excellent knowledge of local UAE travel markets in general
* Experience in leading teams and motivating them to perform at optimal level
* Must possess strong account management and financial skills and have the ability to work independently ensuring expanding and developing relationships with customers at a senior level
* Prior knowledge of product pricing, contract negotiation and also must be familiar with the unique complexities associated with the hotel and travel industries and discerning customer requirements
* Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.
