On the wave of the oil boom of the 1940s, a national carrier was born in 1954.
Initially, Kuwait Airways Company served a limited network of Basra, Abadan,
Beirut, Damascus and Jerusalem; however, a year later the fledgling carrier
was facing economic hardship, and the government of Kuwait took a 50% interest
in the airline, subsequently doubling the company's capital. Having entered
the rough and tumble world of aviation, the government finally took 100% share
in Kuwait Airways.
Kuwait Airways entered the jet age in 1962 by leasing a Comet 4-C, the world's
first jet-engined airliner. In the 1960s, the national carrier rapidly
expanded its route map, and scheduled services to London began three times a
week. To keep pace with fast-moving aviation requirements, three Boeing 707s
were delivered in 1968. Ten years later, Kuwait Airways had an all Boeing 707
fleet of eight aircraft.
In 1978, Kuwait Airways entered the wide-body age by taking delivery of its
first two B747-200s, adding a third the following year. This expansion
permitted Kuwait Airways to extend its network to New York to the west and
Manila to the east.
Modernization of the fleet continued, and four B727-200s were delivered in
1980-1981. Two years later, eight Airbus A310s and A300-600s were delivered,
and in 1986 three Boeing 767-200ER aircraft joined the wide-body fleet.
Following the destruction of its premises and 15 of its aircraft during the
Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, the airline was relaunched. Moreover, the company
was restored after the Liberation of Kuwait, and a basic strategy was
constituted to expand its operations around the world. After the Liberation of
Kuwait until 1998, the Kuwaiti Airways fleet consisted of 17 aircraft.
Kuwait Airways is activity recruiting for the position of Sales Representative
- DXB in Sales Department. In this role your responsibilities will include but
not limited to:
Basic Function and Scope:
Carries out various activities related to promoting KAC passenger sales in the
region. Includes assisting in compiling sales information, analyzing,
allocating and achieving sales plan and targets, visiting clients/agents to
promote sales, arranging for reservation/preparation , providing special
booking facilities and traffic handling for inclusive tours and monitoring KAC
agents productivity.
Tasks and Duties :

Assists assigned supervisor in compiling the information pertaining to sales
promotion activities achieved by assigned area. Includes analysing sales
reports and clients cards, collecting related data and preparing necessary
statistical reports to be used in further planning activities.

Assists Supervisor in analyzing and achieving assigned sales promotion plans.
Includes receiving a copy of approved sales plan and targets, assisting
Supervisor in allocating targets to Sales Representatives in assigned area,
following up on their performance, analyzing major deviation from targets and
drafting reports recommending corrective actions.

Visits IATA and non-IATA Travel Agencies to promote related sales and collect
information for monitoring their productivity and practices of other carriers
and their agents. Assists in solving KAC agent'/clients' problems and
coordinates with reservation and traffic staff to provide booking facilities
and special traffic handling for inclusive tours organized by KAC agents.

Visits Ministries, Government's corporations, commercial houses, oil
companies, other airlines, unions, various associations, sports clubs,
business men, VIP's and other prospective clients to promote sales to achieve
established sales targets.

Receives and reviews clients requests and contacts Operations Department and
Traffic personnel at Kuwait Station to arrange for aircraft preparation and
necessary clearances. Includes negotiating any terms and conditions for
additional services required by clients, calculating fares and completing
contracts and processing to Supervisor for review and approval.

Provides technical assistance to KAC agents organizing inclusive tours
regarding prices/aircraft and passenger reservations/hotel bookings/brochure
preparation, etc. and arranging for sight-seeing and tours guidance.
*
Carries out other similar or related duties such as preparing special studies,
answering related queries, discussing clients' complaints, distributing
promotional and seasonal give-aways, etc.
Requirements**
a. Completion of Secondary (12 years) education plus 2 years of formal
training in commercial discipline.
b. 4 years' experience in airline ticketing and reservation, including 1 year
formal training and the successful completion of ticketing, reservation and
airline sales training courses, 2 years of which as Sales Representative.
c. Good knowledge of English.
