The Role:
*Key account Manager



  • Actively promote and optimize sales for the segment related job description within the scope per Sales area listed.

    • Take accountability of customers & external stakeholders to ensure the successful achievement of the sales targets and objectives as prescribed by management.

    • Customer facing and actively present in the market / sales area to acquire market intelligence in purpose to deliver, increase and improve the tactics, sales and operations, on-board new and or grow the level of repeat and loyal customers.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
    Achieve quarterly sales / order bookings and other job relevant targets by
    implementing set strategies & tactical plans by:

  • identifying, initiating and negotiating all business opportunities

  • support the offer and order intake process

  • increasing profitable growth of the company.
    This will be executed by a range of duties such as sales presentations,
    personal sales visits, attending networking events, exhibitions, factory
    visits, seminars, social media (LinkedIn & Twitter) & promotional activities
    thereby ensuring maximum face time and exposure of Xylem in the market.
    Demonstrate an ability to manage accounts independently without escalations
    and conflicts with internal and external stake holders by optimising the
    project, direct and distribution channels to markets.
    To plan, manage, control and report on the accounts in the sales areas of
    responsibility. Implement the account plans to achieve the targets in terms of
    revenue and other related customer business objectives.
    Identify new customers with business potential, negotiate and conclude on
    deals in consultation with the management. Demonstrate compliance to Xylem
    group polices and procedures so that company's interest is always protected
    with high revenue retention.
    Evolve and develop a Business / Account Activity Plan according Xylem Sales
    policies (‎3-‎12 Month timescales) in line with the Africa business initiatives
    thus ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Influence business
    decisions by providing key input such as product pricing, market situation,
    and potential revenue threats to the management.
    Generate timely reports on sales activities and trends (including feedback
    from market / stakeholders / competitors) for the management. Highlight issues
    that needs to be monitored, requiring corrective action, in order to analyse
    data and derive learning opportunities to enhance continuous improvement.
    Support the process of market research for the company, in conjunction with
    marketing team. Analyse the success of utilizing the various marketing
    channels, through local research and producing reports and analysis
    To network and negotiate with principal accounts & other stakeholders the best
    possible deal for the company. Will need to work very closely with their
    management or key decision makers / stakeholders to be able to source new
    projects or business in order to promote all Xylem products and services in
    the sales area.
    Update and maintain Xylem CRM system by reporting (within ‎48 hours or earlier
    if required) on customer issues, meetings, project pipeline, relevant
    telephone calls and correspondence in order to address any customer concerns
    and identify any additional revenue potential.
    QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Qualifications/Experience:
    Degree with a minimum of ‎5-‎10 years proven track record in a sales function
    where passion, enthusiasm and ambitions comes as natrual Experience from a
    Pump Industry with a hands on sales exposure in the related business unit
    Certificates of the relevant courses and trainings in the areas of the
    customer based communication, value based selling, product trainings, serving
    customers, presenter, trainer and other business related areas. IT proficiency
    (Microsoft Office tools/ CRM)

  • Knowledge and Skills:
    Good presentation and influencing/negotiation skills. Creative and lateral
    thinker and a good team member. Good interpersonal ability and networking
    skills. Should be able to operate independently with minimal supervision. Good
    English written and oral communication skills Driving license is a requirement
    to perform in this job Due to the nature of the business, the jobholder will
    often be required to work non standard office hours and traveling. The
    jobholder should have the ability to cope with several demanding
    customer/situations simultaneously and these must be dealt with tactfully at
    all times. Also should be available online & mobile on a 24hrs basis in case
    of requirements / emergency. Would be required to visit the sites along with
    the customer and ensure that service agreed upon is delivered.

  • Thorough knowledge and positive demonstration of the company 's purpose, values, code of conduct, business model and related processes, services and price / discount structure / policies.

  • Must have the ability to listen and demonstrate good command of English both spoken and written with working knowledge of other languages used in the region, preferably Arabic.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels both within the company and externally.

  • Able to critically analyse data and to propose solutions to problems.

  • Should be able to operate in an international domain at all levels with a minimum travel time of ‎100 days per year where necessitated.
