Development
activities and conduct and plan for LSCE trainings, in addition
will support all field level operations and supervise incentive workers,
documentation, etc.

ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY




Role and responsibilities
Under the supervision of Youth Empowerment and Engagement Project Manager
(YEEPM), the Youth Development Officer will be responsible for organizing
and conducting trainings and facilitating peer to peer discussions with youth,
liaising with staff of youth center and partners and supporting all other
project activities in his/her location of work. He/She will be responsible of
the correct implementation of project’s activities in the youth center,
ensuring the achievement of the expected results. He/she will be responsible
for the timely and affective implementation of ctivities. Also, he/she will be
responsible of establish and maintain transparent, functional relationships
with the target youth and their families.
Generic professional competencies:
* Experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context(youth empowerment and engagement);
* Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts; ability to remain calm and professional intense situations;
* Documented results related to previous responsibilities;
* Solid computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook and Excel;
* Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
* Ability to work diligently both independently and in a team setting;
Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:
* Knowledge of the youth and adolescent contexts and have knowledge about their needs ;
* Knowledge of the youth support Knowledge of the basics of Child Protection and/or psychosocial support;
* Understanding of the circumstances, needs and challenges refugee/IDP children face;
* Understanding of the role of livelihoods in meeting the needs of IDP/refugee populations;
* Understanding of INEE minimum standards;
* Experience in community mobilization and/or relationship building;




Standard responsibilities
* Firm adherence to the ACTED Code of Conduct;
* Obey to ACTED policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines;
* Ensure proper filing of documents;
* Make decisions on the ground with limited or remote supervision;
* Contribution with the implementation of the education project according to the plan of action;
* Prepare and develop status reports as required by management;
* Promote and share ideas for technical improvement;
Specific responsibilities
* Implementation of life skills trainings to youth and adolescents based on Life Skills and Citizenship Education (LSCE) of UNICEF;
* Ensure that Selection and registration of beneficiaries to the life skills trainings;
* Ensure the organization and facilitation of training sessions
* Ensure the quality of the training sessions by receiving timely, relevant and constructive feedback from youth on the quality of the trainings and identify solutions when needed;
* Ensure the proper documentation of trainings and peer to peer sessions (pre- / post-test, attendance sheet, evaluation, reports);
* Participate in the creation of awareness raising campaigns on the importance of child rights, child labour, education, youth employment policies, protection policies, social cohesion and other related topics;
* Mobilize and work closely with youth, parents, key community member and stakeholders to support the project’s activities;
* Support the project team in updating the mapping of actors (stakeholders, local organizations, and youth centers) implementing youth development programs in the area of the project activities;
* Organization of Youth Development trainings such as employability, entrepreneurship, and digital skills trainings and other workshops;
* Support to skilled youths to enter the workforce through internships and/or employment and/or business mentorship activities (referrals, tailored projects, peer-to-peer activities);
* Ensure strong working relationships with youth center to facilitate effective collaboration and communication;
* Provide detailed monthly/weekly activity reports;
* Participate in internal meetings and team workshops regarding the activities of the project, upon request by supervisors;
* Ensure that all files are well-organized and secured and that all files are sent on time to the Project Manager;
If needed translate resources and communication documents from Arabic/Kurdish
to English and vice-versa; A minimum Bachelor degree in Business management, Social Work, Pedagogy or other related to the training and youth development field of studies;
* Languages: Mandatory: Fluency in written and spoken Kurdish and Arabic, Good in English;
* Minimum of ‎3 years of relevant NGOs’ experience (working in the education and youth skills development);
* Experience in capacity building youth;
* Capability to establish good and respectful relationship with other actors;
* Able to train and manage a team (to listen, advise, support, solve conflicts, motivate, etc.);
* Experience with participatory fieldwork, methodologies, monitoring and reporting;
* Knowledge of humanitarian principles and code of conduct;
* Patience, good personal organization, good communication and ability to work in teams;
* Efficient and responsible, with good personal accountability;
* Very good interpersonal and diplomatic skills, especially with beneficiaries facing difficult situations;
* Initiative, flexibility, team spirit, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude;
* Ability to work under time pressure, independently and with limited supervision;
* Computer literate (IT) and good level of numeracy;
NOTE: _The Youth Development Officer position is based in Dohuk, but
daily presence in the
sites_ / Youth center in Duhok* _assigned
will be required. He/she should visit the assigned sites whenever needed
and/or requested by his/her line manager and according to standing operating
