UNDP Egypt Programme Team is composed of three thematic clusters, based on the
three outcomes of its Country Programme i.e.
* Inclusive Growth and Innovation
* Environment and Climate Resilience
* Social inclusion and Local Development
These Thematic Clusters are led by team leaders/Assistant Resident
Representatives (ARRs) with enhanced focus on policy advice, partnership
building, pipeline management, quality assurance, programme implementation,
monitoring and reporting.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative, the
Team Leader/Assistant Resident Representative for Inclusive Growth and
Innovation manages a major, multi-disciplinary, programme portfolio that
promotes "Leaving No One behind", aligned with the following Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs): ‎8, ‎9, ‎12, ‎16, and ‎17. The portfolio covers
innovation, entrepreneurship, digital transformation and Information
Technology for inclusive development.
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Team Leader/ARR, Inclusive
Growth and Innovation, the Youth Empowerment and Engagement Officer is one
of the team of professionals and support staff who provide formulation and
continued monitoring of implementation of related programme interventions.

Inclusive Growth and Innovation
Duties and Responsibilities


The " Youth Empowerment and Engagement Officer " needs to have a strong
understanding of the development process, as well as experience in managing
projects in the areas of youth engagement, innovation, entrepreneurship, and
digital transformation. He/she ensures implementation of program strategies
focusing on achievements and will perform the following:
Youth Activities
* Manage and implement the youth activities and interventions
* Ensure youth inclusion and diversity in the implemented activities and projects
* Represent UNDP in the UN Youth Group in Egypt and other youth collaboration groups.
* Manage partnerships related to the youth projects and activities.
* Deliver and design the capacity building programs and workshops for youth
* Design and propose projects to support youth.
Projects Support
* Suggest, initiate and draft concept notes, and proof of concepts for new projects.
* Support projects' document preparation, coordination with partners and projects' focal points on progress and implementation and draft project reports
* Provide technical support on the use of innovation tools and methodologies for problem solving and improving performance across the different projects of the Inclusive Growth and Innovation portfolio and other portfolios in the CO.
* Suggest and apply digital tools for improving monitoring and management of the projects
* Coordinate for and co-organize the different events and activities for the projects
* Support projects implementation through drafting TORs for consultants, procurement of vendors and service providers.
* Design public engagement plan for the projects with direct engagement to beneficiaries.
Social Innovation Facilitation and Intervention Design
* Initiate and develop concept notes/proposal for social innovation interventions and challenges
* Provide technical support on the innovation tools and/ or methodologies for different interventions and challenges.
* Prepare the needed toolkits and methodologies for each intervention (camps, hackathons, workshops…)
* Prepare the materials and curriculum for the conducted trainings/ workshops/ webinars
* Conduct the TOTs for the tools, methodology and implementation
* Facilitate and mentor on the conducted activities

Required Skills and Experience
Min. Education requirements
Advanced University Degree (Masters or equivalent) in Information Technology,
Business, Economics, Social sciences or relevant field is required .
A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree) in combination with an
additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration
in lieu of the advanced university degree


Min. years of relevant work experience
At least ‎2 years of experience (with Master's degree) or ‎4 years (with
Bachelor's degree) preferably in Information Technology, Business, Economics,
Social sciences or relevant field is requied


Required skills
* Strong skills and experience in project management, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, partnerships, youth capacity building, and entrepreneurship.

* Familiar with the work of international organizations and UN system is an advantage.
