Role Summary:
Saudi Nationals Preferred
In the role of Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement of various
categories of direct materials for both complete units of pumps and parts for
the aftermarket business, driving supplier performance to provide high quality
parts and achieve the on-time delivery goals for the plant.
This position will be required to effectively negotiate best price and lead-
times from the suppliers to meet the cost savings targets for the purchasing
function and the financial goals of the plant.
Responsibilities & Requirements: Responsibilities
* Process and submit purchase orders to suppliers for assigned parts/categories based on signals from Promix (ERP) Supply Chain Planning module
* Evaluate requisitions for correctness, selects the best supplier for the order, applies correct pricing, and takes into consideration any quality problems that may have arisen since the last purchase
* Maintain current schedule dates on all purchase orders. Manage Promix supply chain planning exception reports for Cancellation, Reschedule-in and Reschedule-out Manage RFQ (request for quote) activities for assigned parts/commodities
* Establish and maintain competitive pricing for all purchased parts and services.
* Negotiate supplier pricing. Source and develop new suppliers as needed
* Support facility and global material savings objectives
* Work with Accounts Payable and Receiving department to record and resolve issues related to payment, purchase order and receipt of goods
* Manage supplier scorecard for assigned suppliers and coordinate supplier continuous improvement and development initiatives
* Partner with Global Supply Chain team on key corporate supply chain initiatives
* Analyze and interpret data in order to make sound purchasing decisions
* Manage inventory levels by controlling material receipts and processing deviations and substitutions
Requirements
* ‎2 years of experience in a similar role
* Bachelor's Degree in Business (Supply Chain Management preferred)
* Basic ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and standards in order to clearly communicate requirements
* Ability to lead project teams when required
* Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel
* Excellent communication, organization, negotiation and prioritization skills
Preferred Experience / Skills:
* Fluent verbal and communication skills in English; with preference to one or more additional languages.
* Willingness to travel (occasional)
* Familiarity with our Products / Commodity requirements
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
* Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent experience
* Proven working experience with SAP / Oracle
* Experience in collecting and analyzing data
* IT proficient (Microsoft Office)
* Results oriented
* Strong work ethic and responsiveness
* Problem solver
