Role Purpose
The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies or equipment for a
business. Their duties include negotiating deals with suppliers, researching
possible item selections and taking inventory of current products.
Key Responsibilities
Source or buy the right products/materials as per the requirements
Monitor market demand and supply for required products/materials
Negotiate with vendors to get the best price
Make and negotiate contracts with suppliers for future demands
Work on developing a good supply chain
Estimate the future buying needs and submit reports to top management
Follow up on the buying process
Collect sample products and analyse them in terms of price, quality, and
availability for different suppliers
Develop and maintain a buying database
Check and validated specifications of required products
Analyse different buying opportunities available
Develop an effective and accurate system to monitor purchase orders
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
Work Experience
3-5 years of experience as a buyer
Knowledge
Adequate product/material knowledge
Proper understanding of market
Knowledge in using different systems
An understanding of purchase order software platforms
Skills
Proficiency in MS office
Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers
Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the
company
Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate
Language & communication skills
ENGLISH – Proficient level required in speaking, reading and writing
ARABIC– Basic level required in speaking, reading and writing
