Flowserve is looking for a Buyer to help achieve our team goals by
guaranteeing the purchase of subcontracted components and services at the best
conditions of price, quality and deadlines, in accordance with recommendations
of global Supply Chain Team. In this role you will develop and implement
purchasing strategies by supporting the Commercial Operations team regarding
advance procurement activities, developing our strategy in the engineered
markets, with the goal of increasing our profitability and our on-time
delivery. You will work on strengthening the alignment of the Company's
Purchasing strategy and business strategy. Having the full ownership of the
suppliers portfolio, you will work in close relationship with supply team to
improve our delivery.
Responsibilities:
* Obtains oral and written price quotes from vendors.
* Compares quotes with the specifications and availability of items and places orders based upon site / business evaluation and inputs.
* Organizes, updates, and retains product information files and purchase order records (electronic).
* Reviews orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with existing policies and procedures.
* Obtains appropriate commodities in a timely manner.
* Prepares purchase orders through a computerized system and places orders for the purchase of goods and services.
* Interviews vendors and evaluates their products and capabilities as a supplier.
* Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, reduce costs and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
* Plan product delivery to minimize stock while maintaining good flow of product to the plant to maintain flow.
* Conducts research, evaluates findings, and makes decisions on procurement matters.
* Interprets and evaluates contract provisions.
* Incumbents are assigned to purchase a variety of new and off-shelf commodities.
* Incumbents are assigned to review, place and process all requisitions for materials which are on standing contracts with vendors.
* Incumbents are assigned to review, place and process requisitions for vendor equipment repairs and small construction repair services, and to handle rental, maintenance, and lease-purchase agreements. These activities usually involve non-repetitive, non-routine, and emergency requests. Requests for equipment use involve a determination of whether rental or lease purchase is appropriate. Equipment maintenance and repair involves research of alternatives with factory representatives.
* Comply with SHEA policy and report policy violation and hazards.
Requirements:
* BS or BA Degree in relevant field.
* ‎2-‎3 years' experience in manufacturing industry as buyer.
* Knowledge and implementation at the purchasing level of technical requirements and quality related to products.
* Fluency in English.
* Good understanding of all the main purchasing areas: negotiations, evaluation and development of suppliers, supplier quality, logistics etc.
* Knowledge of the requirements of our markets.
* Global and strategic negotiating skills.
