* PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Business Egypt Program is a five-year, USAID-funded program implemented by
DAI. Business Egypt aims to substantially increase sales revenues and
investments among Egyptian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and, by
so doing, create new job opportunities, especially for women and youth. The
project will co-invest with an ecosystem of institutions--business service
providers, business associations, supportive government institutions, and more
--to offer new products and services enabling MSMEs to better meet market
demand and increase their sales. Business Egypt's proposed sectors are
renewable energy, ICT, and 3 additional sectors TBD. The project will operate
from offices in Cairo, Alexandria, and Minya/Assiut (TBD).
2. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Cairo-based Logistics Assistant will manage the logistics, events planning
and travel for project's activities, and will support the technical teams and
Activity Logistics Manager in estimating costs and budgets for each activity
and coordinating with the operations, procurement and finance teams to ensure
the successful implementation of activities in the Cairo office.
3. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage project's logistics in Cairo, including scheduling and coordinating with different project teams, external stakeholders, and partners; work with the Finance and Procurement teams to ensure proper documentation for project's activities are obtained;
* Support the Cairo technical team in events planning, including logistics and costs estimates;
* Support the Activity Logistics Manager in updating and monitoring the project's activity budget on quarterly basis; track and reconcile spending against budget for each activity;
* Manage and coordinate travel for project staff, consultants, partners and beneficiaries as needed;
* Assist the Activity Logistics Manager with coordination of tasks across the project team and partners as needed;
* Other duties as assigned by the Activities Logistics Manager or the Director of operations and Finance.
4. QUALIFICATIONS
* High School diploma
* At least six years of experience supporting logistics and operations on donor-funded projects; experience with USAID projects is preferred.
* Strong background managing operations on donor-funded projects, including experience organizing and coordinating events and travel.
* Strong financial background, including in budget planning and monitoring;
* Working knowledge of USAID rules and regulations is preferred;
* Ability to coordinate with different teams and resolve issues with external and internal stakeholders;
* Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills;
* Good command of English language, both spoken and written;
* Cultivate teamwork, business integrity and positive work attitude.
