* PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Business Egypt Program is a five-year, USAID-funded program implemented by
DAI. Business Egypt aims to substantially increase sales revenues and
investments among Egyptian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and, by
so doing, create new job opportunities, especially for women and youth. The
project will co-invest with an ecosystem of institutions--business service
providers, business associations, supportive government institutions, and more
--to offer new products and services enabling MSMEs to better meet market
demand and increase their sales. Business Egypt's proposed sectors are
renewable energy, ICT, and 3 additional sectors TBD. The project will operate
from offices in Cairo, Alexandria, and Minya/Assiut (TBD).
2. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The project's Activities Logistics Manager position will manage the logistics,
events planning and travel for project's activities, and will support the
technical teams and COP in estimating costs and budgets for each activity and
coordinating with the operations, procurement and finance teams to ensure the
successful implementation of activities. The Activities Logistics Manager will
manage a team of two Logistics Assistants.
3. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage project's activities logistics in Cairo, including scheduling and coordinating with different project's teams and external stakeholders and partners; work with the Finance and Procurement teams to ensure proper documentation for project's activities are obtained;
* Support the Cairo technical teams in events planning, including logistics and costs estimates;
* Support the Director of Operations and Finance in updating and monitoring the project's activities budget on quarterly basis; track and reconcile spending against budget for each activity;
* Manage and coordinate travel for project's staff, consultants, partners and beneficiaries as needed;
* Manage a team of two Logistics Assistants in the Cairo office;
* Assist the COP with coordination of tasks across the project's teams and partners as needed;
* Other duties as assigned by the COP or the Director of operations and Finance.
4. QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance or other relevant fields and at least 9 years of experience managing operations and finances on donor-funded projects; experience with USAID projects is preferred.
* Strong background managing operations on donor-funded projects, including experience organizing and coordinating events and travel.
* Strong financial background, including in budget planning and monitoring;
* Supervisory experience is required;
* Working knowledge of USAID rules and regulations;
* Ability to coordinate with different teams and resolve issues with external and internal stakeholders;
* Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills;
* Good command of English language, both spoken and written;
* Cultivate teamwork, business integrity and positive work attitude.
