Your day to day**

As a Linen Attendant and Tailor, you will be responsible for the
operational efficiency of all aspects of the linen room including staff
uniform management and making repairs and modifications when needed.

• Ensure staff uniforms and hotel linen is processed and delivered in a timely manner

• Open and close the shift and ensure effective shift hand over

• Oversee the implementation of linen room standards and procedures

  ---

  
  


• Direct task allocations and change according to volume and peak periods.

  ---

  
  


• Perform quality inspections on uniforms and linen.


• Liaise with Housekeeping for guest and hotel requirements.

• Discussing design, alteration, or repair requirements to ensure that specifications are met for uniforms, curtains and upholstery when needed.

• Taking measurements using a tape measure.

  ---

  
  


• Accurately recording measurements, instructions, and preferences.

  ---

  
  


• Attaching labels to garments to prevent any errors.

  ---

  
  


• Modifying garments according to instructions, which includes tapering pant legs, lining sheer garments, removing pockets, and adding padding.

  ---

  
  


• Altering garments to improve comfort and fit, which includes shortening sleeves or straps, narrowing lapels, as well as taking in or letting out seams.

• Repairing garments, which includes patching or sewing tears and holes.

  ---

  
  


• Constructing garments for customers based on their design ideas, specifications, and preferences.

• Providing with cost estimates for the construction of customized garments

• Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.
  

What we need from you

• Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you'll be easy to talk to

• Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities, so every guest leaves with great memories


• Fluency in the local language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential

• Literate and tech-savvy - you'll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic math and computers.

• Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.

• You'll have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential

• Experience - ideally, you'll have spent at least one year in a front desk or guest service position.

  ---

  
  


• Strength - sometimes you'll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (‎23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling.
