What you'll be doing
The Shipping Assistant is responsible for creating Advanced Shipment
Notifications and processing Obligations of Import shipments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
ASN Creation
‎1. Match and approve the PO number in the Oracle system by verifying the PO
'Item references', 'Quantities' and 'Value' against the supplier invoice.
‎2. Communicate with division and take agreed corrective action, in case of
any discrepancy in reference, quantity or price.
‎3. Enter relevant data fields as required by the ASN module.
‎4. Cross check all entered data and confirm the ASN to generate an
Appointment number.
‎5. Send communication to warehouse with appointment number along with packing
list.
‎6. Follow up for the freight charges and Proof of Delivery from freight
forwarder for the obligation process and archiving of records.
‎7. Once goods are confirmed by Warehouse, initiate Obligation process. ‎8.
Archive all records electronically.
Document Control
‎1. Issue shipping documents, create approval requests for different
commodities, liaise with shipping co-ordination team to complete the
requirement for customs clearance.

Key responsibilities:
‎1. Calculate and split the Freight, transportation and other transit costs as
per the payment Invoice value.
‎2. Process the Obligation using the Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS).
‎3. Choose the required type of the Obligation from the available options.
‎4. Enter relevant data fields as required by the RMS module.
‎5. On completion, send the generated obligation number to Accounts
department.
‎6. Archive all records electronically.
What you 'll need to succeed

High School Graduate
Minimum ‎2 years' experience in in Freight Forwarding or similar industries
