Job Description:
We are currently looking for an Employment lawyer, preferably qualified in
United Arab Emirates, as well as familiar with labour law and employment
practices of the countries integrated in the Africa and Middle East Region.


The role is located in the main office of the Region, in this case Dubai, UAE.
It will require occasional travels across the region and sometimes to the
group headquarters in Toulouse (France).


This role will report to the Regional HR Director for Africa and Middle East,
and will be part of Airbus International labour law network (ILL). As part of
ILL, the role will participate in the definition of Airbus employment
standards, providing with the sensitivity and the specific needs of the
Region. The role will support the deployment of global employment policies in
the Region.


The role will also be part of the HR work streams created to manage M&A
transactions in the scope of his/her knowledge and duties, as part of the HR
M&A network.


The responsibilities will include the following:



  • Act as a legal advisor on labour law and employment issues to the regional HR Director and the HR community;

  • Partner closely with HRBPs and business managers to provide day to day counselling, evaluate legal risks and provide subject matter knowledge on a broad range of labour law and employment issues, including recruiting and hiring, training, employee management, complex leaves of absences, and HR best practices;

  • Provide advice and assistance in both individual and collective employment rights and obligations;

  • Oversee the employment and regulatory requirements in the different countries in scope;

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, to provide strategic, business-oriented employment law guidance across multiple jurisdictions;

  • Draft, review and maintain labour legal documents (employment contracts, termination procedures, disciplinary measures…);

  • Key player and support for the management team to promote and maintain a
    constructive social dialogue with employees, social partners and unions
    organisation where applicable;

  • Social and legal audits and monitoring to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, as well as Airbus standards (Human Rights, Code of Conduct, Harassment and Discrimination…);

  • Supporting the Airbus Mobility teams (global and local) in your region in the roll out of mobility policies.


The role will be dealing with external legal counsels to cover the diversity
in the Region when needed.


Skills and Experience:



  • Ability to write and speak fluent English is a must.

  • Other languages such as Arabic and French will be added value;

  • Qualified lawyer with at least ‎3 to ‎5 years of employment/labour law remarkable experience, preferably in high level law firms with an international mindset;

  • Previous in-house experience in a multinational entity would be appreciated;

  • Willing and able to understand a whole range of regional employment law issues, not limited to jurisdictions in which you are qualified;


  • Strong communication, organisational and team working skills, but with the ability to work in complete autonomy while providing relevant reporting in due time.
