Duties



  • Serves as the technical expert/authority for serving as the Senior Information Assurance Manager (IAM) for OPM SANG under the Chief of G6.

  • Plans, designs, develops, implements, and manages IA programs that meet current and future business requirements; designed to anticipate, assess, and minimize Information Technology (IT) system vulnerabilities.

  • Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of automated systems, networks and data/information systems.

  • Exercises overall responsibility and staff direction, operational coordination and review over the development, modification, and application of IA system issues within the OPM SANG , and for the IA program covering:

  • security management, software, hardware, procedural, network, internet, data communications, and IT systems media security.

  • Plans, develops, implements, and manages OPM SANG programs, policies, and procedures to protect the integrity, confidentiality and ensure the availability of IT automated systems, networks, and data.

  • Develops systems security contingency plans and data recovery procedures.

  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction ‎1315.19.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Requires a pre-placement evaluation of fitness for a CENTCOM position, per MOD-‎16, which includes a medical, dental and behavioral health fitness examination. An immunization screening is also required.

  • Must obtain IAM Level III of IA certification in compliance with DoD ‎8570-01M and with Army IA Training and Certification Best Business Practices (BBP) within ‎6 months of appointment.

  • Required certifications are one of the following: CISSP, GSLC, CISM and CAP certification.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance based on the duties and responsibilities identified.

  • This is a Non-Key Security Cooperation (SC) position based on the duties and responsibilities. The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification.

  • The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position's SCW certification level: SC Execution Support Management (AOC): ‎1 year (Basic)

  • and Complete certification-related continuous learning requirements in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) ‎2017, Title ‎10 United StatesCode, Section ‎384.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described
below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer
work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps)
and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious;
spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all
qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must
clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education,

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at
least the GS-‎11 grade level in the Federal service which includes:
‎1) Assisting in the overall planning, design, development, implementation, and
management of Information Assurance (IA) programs to meet current and future
business requirements of an organization; and
‎2) Providing technical, analytical, and advisory functions to assist in the
development of organizational policies, plans, and processes covering IA
programs; and
‎3) Anticipating, assessing, and minimizing Information Technology (IT) system
vulnerabilities through the use of risk management and compliance
applications; and
‎4) Performing the duties of an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM);


AND


IT Related experience demonstrating the following:
‎1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious

‎2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any
individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit
produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency,
other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their

to providing quality products and services.
‎3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts)
to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and
nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial);
makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to
nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
‎4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance
of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and
to make recommendations.


Education

requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience

  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.

  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.

  • This is a Career Program (CP) ‎34 - Information Technology/Cyber Management position.

  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.

  • Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.

  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
