JOB SUMMARY

The Officer, clearing unit represents the Operational role in Cash CJ function
to carry out activities as mentioned below for Retail Products. Also
responsible to execute and supervise all the activities of Payments and
Financial Transacting.
Ensure the key activities mentioned below is performed as per the laid down
procedures and agreed service level agreement with the stakeholders.

* Outward Clearing, Outward Returns
* Post Dated Cheques


RESPONSIBILITIES*
Processes
* Responsible for executing and supervising the entire clearing process and support the reservist model as and when invoked.
* Authorised to input and authorise normal customer transactions/ financial entries within our Transaction processing systems.
* Receive Cheques from counter/customers and provide acknowledgments.
* Batch preparation and scanning on CBE system.
* Perform UV lamp scrutiny and mandated security features check on all products handled by Clearing. (Clearing /RCMS/Transfer /Collection -Inward /Outward).
* To ensure robust reconciliation of all instruments received and processed through CBE SYSTEM and other systems.
* Responsible for executing and supervising the entire clearing process and support the reservist model as and when invoked.
* Authorised to input and authorise normal customer transactions/ financial entries within our Transaction processing systems.
* Receive Cheques from counter/customers and provide acknowledgments.
* Batch preparation and scanning on CBE system.
* Perform UV lamp scrutiny and mandated security features check on all products handled by Clearing. (Clearing /RCMS/Transfer /Collection -Inward /Outward).
* To ensure robust reconciliation of all instruments received and processed through CBE SYSTEM and other systems.
* Handling the four-cheque return process end to end also marking of good faith and letter generation.
* Authorised to handle cheque returns, defective cheques, return memo's and dispatch process.
* Processing of cheques end to end within our processing systems for Inward & Outward Collection, Special Clearing, Transfer Cheques, security cheques etc and all related activities within the timelines.
* Performing various daily internal reconciliation reports (excluding GRU based suspense account recon).
* To make sure unit related documents/processed cheques are archived & managed well.
* Ensure that turnaround times in respect of processing various transactions are met on a constant basis as per agreed SLA with respective units.
* To ensure that all cheques received in the clearing unit are scanned within the cut off's.
* To handle projects which are related to clearing department with extreme diligence and time frame
* To involve, assist, and manage changes in process within the unit
* To involve, assist and manage BAU and / or UAT testing during system changes which come into the unit.
* To ensure that pending items, if any, are escalated to the Manager /Associate Director, and all concerned.
* Ensure that turnaround times in respect of processing various transactions are met on a constant basis as per agreed SLA with respective units
* To develop key working relationships with internal customers and support units etc.
* To ensure a robust reconciliation of all sorts of instruments received and processed.
* To ensure all queries are responded comprehensively and within a reasonable amount of time.
* To take note of all process improvement and automation opportunities and take it up for implementation in order to make processing more efficient and reduce cost.
* To achieve set targets in terms of Service standard for customer transactions
* To ensure that any Nostro un-reconciled entries escalated are kept to the minimum and are resolved in a timely manner.
* Act as custodian for Bank keys/fire rated room as and when required.
* To develop key working relationships with internal customers and support units etc.
* To ensure & keep all internal and external SLAs & R & R updated all the time.

Risk Management
* To ensure all risk events and near misses are logged & closed in EORP on time.
* To take responsibility of ensuring that all process changes are duly updated in the DOI.
* To ensure that the department gets a satisfactory audit rating in all external / internal reviews
* Avoid revenue leakage and ensure that there are no debits to P&L Accounts without appropriate authority
* To ensure that all risks and losses related to clearing are identified, documented and registered in EORP.
* Ensure all practices within the unit comply with risk and compliance procedures minimizing any operational loss in respect of all activities. Ensure controls are in place and operational risk is managed across the portfolio according to group policy
* Ensure compliance to sanctions, AML, KYC policies periodically given by the group
* Ensure that COPMAN checks are performed daily and updated in system.
* To understand and give inputs on BRD / FS which may be raised for system related changes
* Regulatory Reports

* Risk are identified, reported and mitigated properly to avoid any negative audit comments or operational losses.
* Ensure escalations are raised as per procedures.
