Geotechnical Engineer (Rail)
Permanent contract
As support to Egis projects within Egypt, the Geotechnical Engineer shall be
responsible for providing the required technical support pertaining the
Geotechnical Engineering activities, including feasibility studies, on-site
field studies, site works supervision, and any other activities as needed
ensuring full compliance with the project(s) requirements and applicable codes
and standards.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Preparation of terms of reference for geotechnical studies, geotechnical appraisal, factual and interpretative report
* Experience in reviewing and evaluating field study results
* Responsible for the site supervision of geotechnical in-situ and laboratory testing
* Preparation and review of the geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring plans, construction impact assessment and geotechnical risk assessment.
* Providing the required technical assistance for the design and construction works.
* Plan, coordinate, monitor and report the progress of geotechnical field investigation with the subconsultants ensuring the works are done in accordance with the agreed schedule
* Report and escalate any technical issues to the line manager.
The candidate should have:
* University degree at minimum Bachelors level of a recognized Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Faculty
* 5+ years of professional experience in the same field with Previous experience of Rail Projects is a plus.
* Capable to demonstrate a sound understanding of Geotechnical Theory and solving problems using first principles.
* Excellent communication and management skills and fluent in English and Arabic.
* Good skills in organizing, scheduling and coordinating as a part of a team is required
* Determined to act in a responsible way in business activities as well as in social and environmental impact.
