Systems Engineer

JOB OBJECTIVE
Provide first class engineering practices and maintenance tasks to ensure that
all CFA Key Performance Tasks are sustained. First class liaison with SRF,
Mine Warfare Group (MWG) and RSNF Mine Hunters (Ships ‎422 and ‎420) Reports to
and under the direction of the Senior Saudi Engineer and the two UK Waterfront
Engineers
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigation and rectification of defects on the Sonar System as reported by
the RSNF and the Thales team. Installation and participation of customer
acceptance for minor Sonar System updates. Conduct harbour and sea trials as
required for the Sonar System. Provide relevant briefs on the condition of the
Sonar System on each ship to the In-Country Programme Manager. Maintain a
clean and tidy work area. Work under the direction of the supervising Thales
Senior Engineers. Work with the Senior Saudi Engineer on Inventory Management,
CFA Budget control and Programme Dashboard
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Good spoken and written English. Ability to read and understand the relevant
technical documentation in English. Ability to complete any tasks with minimal
supervision. Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills. Ability to be an
essential and useful member of a small team. The applicant will need to be
physically fit for the role. Lifting maintenance equipment on and off the ship
is physically demanding. Ability to supervise junior team members and
technicians. Good working knowledge of Excel and Word
QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical or
Hydraulic) Previous Engineering and Programme Management experience Saudi
Council of Engineer Membership
PREFERRED SKILLS
‎1. Practical systems engineering.
‎2. Fault finding on complex mechanical, hydraulic and electronic
systems.
‎3. Ability to speak, read and write English.
