Material Planner

You will be working as a Material Planner, and will be the part of
Electrification Business Area for Distribution Solutions Division based in
10th of Ramadan City, Egypt. In this role you will be reporting to Planning &
Fulfillment Manager and will be responsible for conversion of supply plan into
a master production schedule which can be executed.

Your responsibilities

• Segment the portfolio of materials through an ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management and commercial policy. Define inventory policies according to this segmentation, calculate and maintain in the planning systems and the ERPs the inventory parameters: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time, and replenishment strategies.


• Collaborate with Buyers for obtaining the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, MOQ, quality, lead-time, and flexibility.


• Work with Operations Buyers and GBS to align planning of material with call offs and ensure that purchase requisitions convert into purchase orders.


• Manage MRP (Materials Resource Planning) exception messages on a daily basis and support cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting. Conduct financial risk assessments decision relate to inventory, conduct root case analysis when necessary.


• Analyse excess and obsolete/aging inventory, take appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with sales, marketing, manufacturing and Procurement and Logistics.


• Closely with other departments to improve the NWC (Net Working Capital) and follow all ABB Ethics and OHS instructions.


• Form and work in synergy in teams with subordinates' peers and Superior.

Your background

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree.


• minimum ‎3 to ‎4 years of experience of relevant experience


• Expertise in SAP, Excel & Data Analysis.


• Good to have Power BI & Certified in CPIM.


• Fluency in both spoken and written English & Arabic language is a must.
