Operational Risk Manager - CEEMEA Region

ORM is part of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR), within the
Risk Management and Compliance organization. We maintain oversight of the
firm's compliance, conduct and operational risk management activities and are
responsible for the design and execution of a comprehensive Risk and Control
framework. We are considered a second Line of Defense (LoD) function and
proactively manage operational risk to defend the firm against the negative
impacts of operational errors. We help the firm grow its business in a
responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks.

Job Responsibilities

Independently oversee and monitor the appropriate execution of the JPMorgan
CCOR Framework by the businesses and supporting functions in the 1st LOD
within the CEEMEA region.
* Understanding and assessing key and emerging operational risks faced by the businesses in the region, including staying abreast of industry news and regulatory developments to facilitate proactive risk identification and mitigation.
* Working closely with the local control functions and regional / global Operational Risk Management teams to ensure local issues are known broadly and are being escalated as required.
* Representing the independent risk function as appropriate at regional management, regional strategic initiatives, governance and regulator meetings as required, supported by relevant risk specialists.
* Independently assess operational risks and control environments through qualitative and quantitative means, raising Issues for the 1st LOD to remediate where relevant.
* Utilise expert judgement and observation of emerging risks to help shape the CCOR Monitoring and Testing Plan across the region.
* Liaison with key stakeholders across 1st, 2nd and 3rd LODs in the communication of observations and results of Monitoring and Testing activities and facilitating the read across to other groups.

Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills
* Bachelor's degree with ‎7+ years of professional experience in risk management or other related control functions (e.g. Compliance, Controls Management, Audit)
* Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills with successful track record of completion
* Experience dealing with requests from regulators or other external parties would be beneficial.
* Ability to lead the change and manage conflict with strong influencing skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to understand risks and their drivers and to form, articulate and explain views.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment, proactive team player as well as being self-motivated with the ability to act independently.
* Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications, capabilities and skills
* Familiarity with Tableau, Alteryx or other automation technologies.
* Adaptability to learn and understand internal systems, technology architecture and components, processes, sub-processes, risks and controls.
