Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for a Technical Accountant
(d/f/m) to work in our unit Life/Health Europe, LatAm & MENA based in our
office in Dubai.
Your Role

The team in Dubai and Paris works on Life/Health reinsurance throughout the
MENA region with Underwriters and Account Executives maintaining existing
client contacts whilst developing and growing the business.
The Technical Accountant is required to work closely with the Finance Manager
to provide the full range of Finance services to the office in Dubai.
The main responsibility of the Technical Accountant is to assist the Finance
Manager in the Accounting function for the Dubai and Paris office by
performing the following activities in relation to Life/Health Technical
Accounting:
* Check and book incoming statements of accounts for Life/Health treaties;
* Evaluation and administration of data;
* Year-end work, controls, establish reports;
* Analysis of markets and treaties.
Your Profile
*
Relevant accounting qualification or studying towards one.
* Experience of working within an Accounts Team within a Life/Health Reinsurance environment.
* Experience in working with complex treaties and accounts.
* Preferably holds knowledge of international accounting rules and standards.
* Excellent IT Skills (MS Excel, MS Access, Lotus Notes, MS Word).
* Ideally first programming skills with R and Power BI.
* Fluent in English, French and Arabic.
* Worked with accounting software previously, SAP preferred.
* Strong communication skills in all medium. and excellent attention to detail.
* Proven ability working within a team environment.
* Ability to deal with people at every level of an organization. This is an international environment with clients in many locations and it is vital that the Technical Accountant is willing and able to work with new and existing suppliers and clients as well as GenRe team members throughout the globe.
