ABOUT THE BRAND
Our name, Shangri-La, was inspired by James Hilton's legendary novel "Lost
Horizon". Hilton's book was about a tranquil haven in the mountains of the
Himalayas, called Shangri-La, which cast a spell on all who resided there.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts began in 1971 with our first luxury hotel in
Singapore. Today, the group comprises over 100 hotels and resorts in key
cities in the Asia Pacific, North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Based
in Hong Kong, we are expanding globally with developments underway throughout
Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
ABOUT THE PROPERTY
Shangri-La Jeddah will be housed in a prominent development with a 220-room
hotel and serviced residences in Jeddah, the second-largest city in Saudi
Arabia and the principal gateway to Mecca. Offering stunning views over the
water, the hotel will feature four restaurants, function areas totalling 2,118
square meters, a luxury spa and fitness areas, a swimming pool, a children's
club, and several lounges.
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Housekeeper and, the
Housekeeping Guest Floor assists in directing and controlling all housekeeping
activities, ensuring that the cleanliness, orderliness and physical aesthetics
of the area of the assignment are maintained in accordance with established
standards.
Responsibilities:
Assists the Exec. Housekeeper/Assistant Exec-Housekeeping in communicating all
relevant information to housekeeping staff assigned at the public areas and
floors.
Facilitate staff briefings, as assigned and/or needed.
May be assigned to attend P&L; reviews and prepare rationale for variances in
labour cost, printing and cleaning supplies, uniform/linen costs, stationery,
cost per occupied room, etc.
Assists in administering Lost and Found procedures by consistently reminding
staff to follow established procedures.
Regularly reviews work cycles and ensure staff schedules are coordinated with
the peaks and slack of operations to maximize productivity.
Prepares daily Work analysis.
Conducts quality inspection of guestrooms and/or public areas (function rooms,
restaurants/outlets, stairways, restrooms, elevators, lockers, heart-of-the-
house, offices, parking, etc.) per established procedures as guided by
established standards.
Records and notes down items that require repair and follow-up.
