Job Summary:
Assistant Purchasing Manager is responsible for purchasing all requirements of
the Hotel and ensures that items purchased conform to the required standards
of quality and quantity at the lowest possible cost. may also be required to
source for items or contractors for special projects.
As an Assistant Purchasing Manager, we rely on you to,
Enhance the use of existing Group & Regional contracts.
Reduce the cost of operational purchases while maintaining established quality
levels.
Responsible for ensuring that all purchases meet the requirements of the
hotel.
Secure contracts with suppliers on best commercial terms.
Share new products and supplies information to Hub purchasing Manager and
Group purchasing Department.
Direct & Delegate purchasing responsibilities for purchasing employees at
purchasing office.
Establish consistent product specifications with the operating departments for
all locally purchased products and services.
Providing a high level of technical assistance to the operating departments
and working closely with financial controllers to survey the market for
quality and competitive prices, recommend alternate sources of supply as
appropriate.
Keep in touch with close suppliers and obtain up to date information
especially for new products, and market trends, encourage suppliers to develop
new products, packaging, and services to meet our needs.
Negotiate with representative of suppliers for key items and determine the
quality of merchandise in consultation with other user departments heads.
Source and Obtain quotations for hotel capital expenditure requests; complete
transaction when approved.
What we are Looking For:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably hotels.
Communicates and writes with fluency in English (as well as the Arabic
language)
Computer Knowledge.
