Responsible for overall control, execution and management of projects from
start of construction to completion. Assures projects are carried out in
accordance with specifications, drawings and contract document.
1. Prepares bid documents and provides cost estimates for projects.
2. Conducts on-site inspections of work in progress as a basis for
determining compliance with contract documents and fire and safety
regulations.
3. Supervises and gives instructions and assigns responsibilities to site
engineers and control technicians.
4. Reviews and approves the CPM, PERT, Bar Charts and other construction and
material procurement schedules submitted by the Contractor for project
execution. Ensures compliance with recognized standards.
5. Approves modifications within specifications. Negotiates with contractors
regarding change orders to initiate modifications.
6. Reviews the monthly application of the contractor for payment and work
performed and material brought on-site by the contractor and to certify the
percentage of work completed and the application of payment.
7. Attends weekly meetings with contractors and/or projects staff and
prepares periodic progress reports on projects.
8. Assists in resolving complex technical problems and coordinates problem
resolution.
6. Evaluates staff performance and counsels for enhanced performance.
7. Participates in self and Hospital's quality improvement plan preferred.
PhD, Master 's or Bachelor's Degree in Architectural, Civil, Electrical,
Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline is required.
Six (6) years of related experience with PhD, including four (4) years in a
managerial position, nine (9) years with Master 's or eleven (11) years with
Bachelor's Degree is required.
