www.apacorp.com Specific Responsibilities
The Staff Geologist for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s
Geoscience team within our Egypt Asset at the company’s Cairo, Egypt office
and assigned to the KPC joint venture development team. This position will
report to the Director of Geology.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
* Identify development opportunities and mature into development well proposals by preparing reservoir and structure maps for all prospective intervals
* Create geologic models for volumetric assessments and planning of field development
* Provide geological support for efficient drilling design and safe drilling operations
* Planning and executing development wells and providing post-drill lookbacks on every well
* Collaborate with Exploration team in hand-off of newly discovered fields
* Sharing all findings from development and reservoir characterization studies for future use in exploration Qualifications & Experience
Preferred & Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and
experience:
* Proven oil finder with ‎15+ years oil and gas appraisal and development experience with a major IOC; minimum a relevant M.S. degree
* Significant experience in Egypt Western Desert petroleum systems
* Expert with industry standard well log interpretation software packages (Petrel experience a plus)
* Strong geomodelling skills with focus on field development. Strong data integration, mapping, and workstation skills
* Strong skills in structural and stratigraphic interpretation
* Experience with probabilistic volumetric and risk assessments
* Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information
* Excellent communication skills – presentation experience to management and JV partners; effectively communicates work procedures to relevant personnel
* Ability to work and drive recommendations in a fast-paced environment within an integrated multi-discipline team from concept through implementation
* Excellent time management skills; mature and professional attitude
Experience with the below software applications is preferred:
* Petrel and Studio
* GEOX, Spotfire
* Microsoft Office Suite
