Project Description:
The OSRA program is five-year USAID-funded project. The goal of the OSRA
program is to improve family health outcomes by reinforcing the national
family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) program in partnership with
the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP). The OSRA program will achieve
this purpose through the three pivotal results: 1) Women 's and men's uptake
and continuation of voluntary family planning services increased; 2) Youth
equipped with knowledge and skills necessary to make healthy life choices; and
3) Gender dynamics improved for enhanced voluntary family planning and
reproductive health outcomes. The OSRA program will closely collaborate with
different local stakeholders and other Government of Egypt (GOE) entities to
attain its results.
Summary : The Governorate Relations Advisor will work closely with the
Field Implementation Team Lead to initiate the OSRA Program in intervention
governorates. S/he will be responsible for setting up all introductory
meetings and for forming and follow up on the governorate level working group,
as well as implementation of agreed upon national policies at governorate
level.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Initiate the Project in intervention Governorates by setting up meetings with MOHP Under Secretaries and Governors.
* Arrange to hold meetings with governorate officials at various levels to establish cooperative relationships with them; and sign MOUs and agreements as needed.
* Work with other colleagues to form governorate-level working groups
* Follow up with governorate level working groups, through periodical meetings to ensure smooth implementation and replication of OSRA activities
* Work with other colleagues to provide technical assistance and capacity building to governorate level working groups.
* Follow up on the implementation of national policies at the governorate level in intervention governorates.
* Support the documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
* Network with relevant governorate officials, institutions, private sector, civil society in the area of health and social development.
* Prepare and submit relevant draft sections of quarterly, annual, and final reporting
* Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Education, Knolweged and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field such as, but not limited to, medicine, social studies, development studies, or a related field.
* At least 20 years of professional experience in civil society or educational program or family planning developmental program and management.
* Strong personality with strong leadership capabilities to lead teams.
* Experience in working with the Ministry of Health and Population with good understanding of the ministry systems of working.
* Essential computer literacy (word, excel, and internet).
* Strong experience with monitoring tools and systems.
* Demonstrated experience with different donors' compliance and reporting systems, as well as training and capacity building.
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to express complex and technical terminology and concepts in a clear and comprehensible manner.
* Excellent command of the Arabic language.
