KAUST's Strategic National Advancement department (SNA) is seeking a talented
and creative Digital Marketing and Social Media Officer to support its team in
developing, implementing, and managing internal and external digital
communication designed to increase awareness and recognition of the department
brand and mission.


The position holder will contribute to the digital marketing communications
strategy for the department, developing impactful communications that elevate
the visibility of the department's brand and makes optimal use of social media
and marketing resources.


The successful post holder will have a strong understanding of digital content
and social media and a proven understanding of traditional marketing, search
engine optimization, brand management, and online measurement tools.


Major Accountabilities



  • Plan, conceptualize, strategize, and implement key digital communication, branding, and social media across a broad range of programs and initiatives aligned with SNA's and KAUST's mission in the Kingdom.

  • Promote SNA's brand identity and oversee the execution of marketing and social media campaigns across digital channels generating awareness of SNA's mission in alignment with KAUST processes and standards.

  • Proactively generate ways to advance awareness of SNA's mission and programs by building public relations strategies that engage internal and external audiences and working as needed with external vendors to develop press releases, articles, campaigns, and other media communications.

  • Responsible for expanding SNA's digital marketing strategy, social media, and online presence, developing and implementing new digital campaigns, creating innovating marketing approaches, and supporting SNA's digital marketing communications for a wide range of audiences, including senior KAUST leadership.

  • Collaborate extensively across wider KAUST teams to gather requirements, understand needs, and ensure effective participation in digital communications, marketing, and branding projects, including web content, social media content, marketing materials, reports, videos, and other interactive formats as required.

  • Use marketing metrics and a range of techniques, including SEO, to manage and monitor the effectiveness of external communication and adjust as needed to improve performance. Devise strategies to drive online traffic to the SNA website and social media channels and improve as needed.

  • Optimize marketing budget to produce successful collateral in support of the SNA department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.


Person Requirements


Competencies



  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including marketing, content management, branding and social media experience.

  • Competence to create a variety of engaging digital content that conveys each project's message effectively to the target audience.

  • Technical ability to oversee the creation of graphics, videos, website posts and other interactive formats.

  • Ability to develop marketing collateral to support events such as content for booth displays, interactive exhibits, digital assets and video content.

  • Ability to take large amounts of information and reorganize and simplify it into brief, compelling pieces of content.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills and aptitude to manage multiple projects concurrently and accurately set and meet deadlines.

  • High standard of character and conduct and the capacity to handle highly confidential and sensitive topics.

  • Ability to understand complex environments and work effectively in both informal and highly official settings.

  • Ability to operate independently and interact at senior levels to facilitate the approval and execution of projects in a developing environment.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in communications, branding or marketing, or a related discipline

  • Other qualifications related to branding, design or marketing is desirable


Experience



  • ‎3+ years of experience in Marketing, Communications, and Social Media.

  • Interdisciplinary experience working across marketing, branding, social media and communications fields

  • Strong experience developing multimedia content for a range of platforms & audiences

  • Experience in graphic art production, digital graphics applications (Adobe Creative Suite required), digital publishing, and multimedia design is desirable.

  • Experience working in higher education industry is desirable.

  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization.
