The Job Opportunity
Serco will be delivering consultancy services with regards to the management
of our client’s maintenance service providers and Operational Strategy
(including Facilities Management, Digital Transformation and Asset Management)
& Capital Projects Handover. TFM Operations Lead is in charged with assisting
the delivery of the strategic direction of all project operations within the
contract by ensuring the effective management of in-house engineers, team
leaders and technicians as well as a number of outsourced service providers,
with the prime objective of ensuring that adequate management systems are in
place to continually ensure a safe and compliant environment.
Additionally, the purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of day-to-day
contract service delivery during the hours of duty. Out of normal working
hours, this role will be the focus for client relationships. The role requires
the efficient management of all of the service lines including civil,
mechanical, electrical and controls. Deployment of personnel and resources is
a core element of this role. Responsibility for KPI delivery is managed and
delegated, as is control of safe systems of work.
Six Sigma certification is a preference (yellow belt/green belt/black belt)
Key accountabilities Support the development and implementation of the SERCO
team strategic operations framework Input into the development and
implementation of the SERCO strategic framework and Best Practice in respect
of hard services, working closely with other members of the SERCO team
Maintain strong working relationships with the Client - with emphasis on
frequent, thorough, and professional communication on operations related
matters Co-ordinate the development of SERCO operational policies and
standards Implement the operational process, procedures & statements of
requirements to underpin both Serco and the Client’s operational standards
according to the approach agreed by the Contract Manager Develop additional
operational statements of requirements specific to the needs of the contract
Ensure strict adherence across the account to Serco guidelines and process and
procedures Provide operational support to the SERCO and subcontractor team Be
a technical first point of call/focal point for all operational issues that
are escalated by the Engineer / Team Leader or another team member
What we are looking for in our candidates: Excellent communication and
influencing, persuasion and engagement skills Excellent presentation skills
for making verbal presentation Ability to think laterally and analyse and
assess a wide range of information Ability to multi-task and analyse
situations to determine the proper course of action or alternatives without
jeopardising safety, quality and contracted performance targets Evidence of
building strong trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders Good
analysis, problem solving, team player and project management skills
Specific requirements Minimum of 10 years’ experience in maintaining and
delivering of operational services 5 years plus of managing within an FM
environment Must hold a degree in Engineering field Experience of managing
multiple teams Large and technically complex facility experience is desirable
Six Sigma certification is a preference (yellow belt/green belt/black belt)
