Position Title: Manager, Fixed Assets

‎2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Financial accounting is responsible for the summary, analysis and reporting of
financial transactions related to business applying standardised processes and
guidelines; this involves the preparation of financial statements such as an
income statement or a balance sheet (available to external stakeholders
‎3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Qualification:
‎1. Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Accounting
Experience:
‎10 Years relevant experience in Accounting , more than ‎7 Years experience in
Fixed Asset

‎4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Operational / Functional
* Review and approve the forms submitted by Proponent after initials review by the Fixed Asset Account.
* Review and provide internal approval to the identified changes to the CWIP treatment, prior to sending for final approval by Management
* Review and post the accounting entry to update the CWIP in Project Module, post approval of the changes to the CWIP treatment
* Ensure that the asset tags are put on the fixed assets
* Review and post the journal entry to account for the monthly depreciation for the fixed assets added to the fixed asset module
* Review and post the journal entry for the transferred and disposed fixed assets to accurately record the gain / loss
* Review the variance report created by the fixed asset accountant and recommend corrective actions to resolve the identified variance
* Post the accounting entries in fixed asset register, in case the fixed asset variance cannot be resolved
* Create the final report of variance between fixed asset register and physical audit and share with Internal Audit
* Review and approve the appropriate interest / discount rate for the financial leases and site decommissioning and rehabilitation provisions
* Review and post the accounting entry for the initial recognition of the leased fixed asset
* Review and provide internal approval to the identified changes to the site decommissioning and rehabilitation provisions, prior to sending for final approval by Management
* Contribute to requirements of internal and external auditors as per the directions of the Fixed Asset Director
