Position at Middle East Communications Network
The role
To efficiently provide PC / Mac based IT support to the agencies.
Reporting to
KSA Local Management / MCN IT Service Director
Main Duties
*
Ensure that IT support jobs are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
* Use own initiative to troubleshoot support issues and provide solutions.
* Liaise with external suppliers to provide solutions to problems.
* Manage Agency Backup systems daily and perform periodic restores.
* Manage Agency Archive systems.
* Challenge current practices to provide new and more efficient ways of working.
* Ensure machine builds are kept up to date, and that equipment is running in an optimal way.
* Be courteous and professional towards colleagues and other members of staff at all times.
* Ensure that the following infrastructure equipment is running efficiently and effectively at all times:
* Server Room Environment - UPS/Air conditioning/Access Security
* Windows and Unix Servers
* Firewalls
* Routers
* All circuits and connections into the Agency
* DDS Servers and Infrastructure
* WAN Links
* LAN Networks
* DMZ Network
* DMZ Servers
* DMZ Security
* Ensure that all systems are documented and kept up to date.
* Capture all Issues / Change / work completed within the company's helpdesk system.
* Monitor equipment and try to anticipate failures.
* Perform other duties assigned by management.
Skills & Experience
*
Experience of PC/Mac Troubleshooting and Support
* Ability to take a methodical and logical approach to situations.
* Knowledge of the following systems/applications:
* Internal workings of a PC/Mac
* PC/Mac Hardware Troubleshooting
* Windows 10/11 (if PC support is core)
* OS X (if mac support is core)
* Office 365: - MS Teams, MS SharePoint,
* Antivirus software
* Networking fundamentals
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
