Key Account Director (f/m/d)

For Saudi Arabia, we are seeking a Key Account Director (f/m/d) for the
railway sector, to represent DB E.C.O., namely Consulting activities, in the
country and to lead and manage the consulting tender proposals to be delivered
on time, quality and budget.

Responsibilities:

Business development
* Represent DB Consulting in the country in front of different stakeholders (customers, partners) and act as the Key Account
* Maintain and develop the stakeholders network
* Drive the consulting demand in the country for the 1st year, with a possibly of evolving to the entire MEA hub
* Hire, train and transfer the knowledge to a local successor - Key Account manager, ideally ‎1 year at the earliest after the job start
* Monitor market trends in the railway sectors (both private and public) and prepare market reports (written on demand)
* Support the sales colleagues in the country and maintain close cooperation with the technical departments

Bid management
* Develop, lead, prepare and submit the Consulting bids (technical and commercial offers) within the customer defined timeframes, budgets, & requirements in alignment with all internal & external interfaces, supported by the Central teams, including the Consulting PGOs and Business Lines
* Analyze the tender requirements and explain them to the different management levels within the company in the relevant meetings / communication channels according to the processes
* Lead all aspects of the bidding process to drive a collaborative working with virtual teams in planning & design, producing and submitting high quality tender responses
* Guarantee a cost-effective and high-quality tender and establish company-wide standards for the bid management process of DB E&C
* Ensure that the bid process is compliant, in line with our company's policies and procedures. Strictly adhere to internal and external deadlines
Qualifications:
*
Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or economics and/or relevant
experience as a project manager in the railway sector
* Minimum ‎10 years ' experience in the rail industry, preferably in railway engineering or consulting
* Very sound understanding of the railway infrastructure and/or operations
* Proven track record in delivering winning bids for public bodies (ENR, NAT, etc.)
* Excellent project management capability, including the ability to work under pressure and manage different bids, working within tight deadlines
* Ability to deliver complex bids independently if necessary, including case studies, commercial envelopes
* Proactive, self-starter mentality, whilst maintaining a positive attitude towards their work and others with the ability to educate and influence colleagues
* Previous experience in managing teams either in office or virtually
* Experience in dealing with key stakeholder both internally and externally
* Commercially adaptable
* Flexibility and willingness to travel to meet business needs
* Customer orientation and ability to understand requirements and apply technical skills to create a winning solution
* Experience in working with international teams across many disciplines
* High confidence in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe software
* Fluency in English, additional language skills, especially German & Arabic would be desirable
* Excellent technical writing skills and the experience of generating compelling proposal content
* International driver's license
* Willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia
