The Role
A public accountant is a financial professional who provides accounting and
auditing services to individuals, businesses, and government entities. They
ensure that financial records are accurate and taxes are paid properly and on
time. Responsibilities: • Prepare financial statements: Public accountants are
responsible for preparing financial statements, such as balance sheets, income
statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting principles
and regulations. • Conduct audits: Public accountants perform audits of
financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.
They may also perform internal audits to identify any potential errors or
fraud within a company's financial records. • Provide tax services: Public
accountants assist individuals and businesses in preparing and filing their
tax returns. They also provide tax planning advice to help clients minimize
their tax liability and ensure compliance with tax laws. • Offer financial
advice: Public accountants may provide financial advice to clients, such as
helping them develop budgets, manage investments, and make strategic financial
decisions. • Maintain records: Public accountants are responsible for
maintaining accurate and organized financial records for their clients. This
includes keeping track of income, expenses, and other financial transactions.
• Stay updated on regulations: Public accountants must stay up-to-date on
accounting principles, tax laws, and other regulations to ensure compliance
and provide accurate advice to clients. • Communicate with clients: Public
accountants regularly communicate with their clients to discuss financial
matters, provide updates on their accounts, and answer any questions or
concerns.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office • Fluent in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus) • Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's tax laws and regulations.
