Materials Handler

Job Summary.
The Material Handler moves and stores materials/products using a combination
of manual labor and low complexity machinery/equipment (e.g., forklifts and
conveyors) including handling and maintaining flow of materials and products
according to established guidelines. The position may also require additional
duties such as loading and unloading trucks, steel coils and various other
items. Blasting, painting, and assisting Testing/ Mechanic area when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
The responsibilities and accountabilities of the position include but are not
limited to the following:
* Conduct pre-use inspection for forklifts before using forklifts, document and operate forklifts safely.
* Assist in strapping and ensure that empty carts are available for operators to use.
* Check against quality & packaging standards and report any discrepancies.
* Distribute finished goods to the designated areas.
* Perform stenciling for WIP and finished goods materials.
* Gather and safely transfer packaging materials and scrap (steel and wood).
* Maintain good housekeeping inside and outside the plant.
* Support the receiving and unloading of materials such as steel coil, cartons, etc. from trailers and verify the incoming materials against the packing list.
* Provide any other assistance as requested by supervisor or lead hand. ( blasting, painting, testing, or prepping of product for assembly hands )
* Comply with all Company health and safety policies.
* Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, ethics and practices when dealing with customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors and other key stakeholders of the company.
* Conduct oneself in a professional manner that reflects integrity and respect towards customers, suppliers, peers, subordinates, supervisors and other key stakeholders of the company
* Work overtime as required.
* Succeed in a fast-paced plant environment.
* Wear PPE as required.
* Carry out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
* Responsible for and the authority to maintain and promote a safe working environment in accordance with the appropriate HSE procedure(s).
* Participate in actions which promote a safety and quality culture within NOV.
* Comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health Safety Environmental polices & procedures.
* Ensure compliance of the company's overall objectives.
* Other duties as assigned by management.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent.
* ‎6 months in a manufacturing atmosphere preferred.
* Prior forklift and lifting device operation experience a plus.
* Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
* Must be able to comprehend instructions.
* Legible writing skills are preferred.
* Candidates must be able to execute assigned duties with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
* Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
* Must be able to stand and work in adverse conditions (outside in all types of weather or inside in a manufacturing environment) for a minimum of ‎8 hours.
