We fight for a world beyond fossil fuels.
350.org is building a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis.
Our online campaigns, grassroots organising, and mass public actions are led
from the bottom up by thousands of volunteer organisers in over 188 countries.
350.org works hard to organise in a new way - everywhere at once, using online
tools to facilitate strategic offline action. We want to be a laboratory for
the best ways to strengthen the climate movement and catalyse transformation
around the world. The values that guide and drive our work are listed here.
Over the past 15 years, we have mobilised with people around the world to
confront injustice and challenge our fossil-fuelled economic systems.
Together, we have achieved extraordinary things, from getting millions of
people onto the streets worldwide, to moving trillions of dollars away from
the fossil fuel industry, to stopping dirty coal, oil and fossil gas plants
and pipelines. We take on ambitious fights - and we often win!
350.org is now looking for a passionate and committed Global Director of Human
Resources, with substantial experience in the international nonprofit sector,
and a strong commitment to our work and values. The Global Director of HR will
be responsible for leading the strategic direction of recruitment, HR and
talent management of 350.org globally. Championing our mission and the culture
and values of 350.org, this role will oversee a small global team of HR
professionals, and work with senior leaders, management and staff in creating
and implementing a strategy that attracts, retains and develops talents and
seeks to develop an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that
emphasises justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI). The role will be
responsible for leading and managing the entire employee lifecycle to support
the achievement of 350's Theory of Change, organisational goals and strategic
objectives, as well as establishing best practices for talent acquisition and
management around the world.
The ideal Global Director of HR will bring a strong technical HR background,
including talent acquisition, talent management and development and employee
relations, ideally gained in an international, non-profit setting. You will
bring experience in management, with demonstrable ability to build and lead a
team of HR professionals. The ideal candidate will also bring previous union
experience, with understanding of the US NLRA particularly valuable. A self-
starter, you will thrive working in a highly multicultural and international
organisation, and bring a deep personal and demonstrable commitment to
workplace justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. Most importantly, you will
be a highly ethical person with the ability to make sound judgement, exercise
discretion and promote fairness, integrity and accountability across 350.org
globally. The next Global Director of HR will wholly believe and embrace the
organisation's vision, mission and progressive values.
At 350.org, you'll work with a team of brilliant, fierce colleagues, tackling
one of the greatest issues of our time, in a flexible and collaborative
environment. To apply, please submit a CV and Covering Letter, detailing how
you fulfil the role description and personal specification and quote
reference 6920 . The deadline for applications is Monday 20th November
2023 at 9am GMT.
The role is based remotely, anywhere 350.org has operations globally. Location
options and salary scales can be viewed here.
350.org is an equal opportunity employer. 350.org strives to be an inclusive
and collaborative group of people who bring a variety of approaches to the
work we do. We 're committed to the principles of justice, and we try to build
a safe workplace where everyone is treated fairly and enjoys working together.
We value new perspectives, ideas of all sorts, and different ways of working.
Diverse perspectives and experiences improve the way 350.org carries out our
work - including what we decide to work on and how creatively/effectively we
do that. We do our best to make staff positions accessible to all potential
team members, regardless of race, national origin, ethnicity, age, disability,
assigned gender, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation or
identity, religion or creed, veteran status, marital or parental status, and
genetic information. We also strive to include team members in communities
most impacted by climate change or impacted by other kinds of environmental,
social, and economic injustice.
