Summary

The Teaching & Learning Office is a dynamic team that supports learning across
the district via its mission of empowering educators to empower students,
with a focus on the ISG guiding principles and strategic goals. The office is
responsible for accreditations, the continuous curriculum review cycles,
professional development, learning support, instructional technology,
leadership development, school improvement, data, assessment, summer learning,
instructional resources, grading, assessment and program development.
The Data and Assessment Coordinator supports the school improvement process by
overseeing data collection, warehousing, analysis and reporting. They
coordinate assessments, ensuring compliance and accuracy. The coordinator
plays a crucial role in maintaining data quality and integrity while assessing
growth opportunities for programs. They provide insights and recommendations
based on data analysis to facilitate evidence-based decision-making,
supporting the district's efforts in continuous improvement and learning
support.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
* Data
* Facilitate and maintain the Data Dashboard and data protocols
* Facilitate ongoing data implementation (surveys, learning walks, assessments) with school and district administration and school improvement teams
* Create, maintain and facilitate reflection of data through reports, presentations and committee meetings
* Utilize data analysis tools and software to generate reports, visualizations and summaries to support decision-making at the district and school levels
* Implement procedures and protocols to ensure the accuracy, reliability and integrity of data collected and stored within district systems
* Collaborate with district and school leaders to identify key performance indicators and goals, based on data analysis, to guide strategic planning and improvement initiatives
* Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making at the district, school and classroom levels
* Facilitate data review meetings and discussions to help stakeholders interpret and apply data findings in their decision-making processes
* Assessments
* Coordinate district-wide and school-level assessments, ensuring compliance with testing requirements
* Collaborate with teachers, administrators and assessment coordinators at individual schools to develop assessment calendars, distribute materials and manage logistics for assessment administration
* Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective assessment practices, including test item development, scoring and data interpretation
* Communication
* Maintain regular communications with teachers, grade level and content area teams, school improvement teams, leadership teams and the system planning team
* Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on progress, successes and address concerns
* Promote and maintain a positive working environment
* Provide leadership, guidance and support to educators
* Promote, foster and support a professional learning community, facilitating learning sessions focused on our school improvement efforts
* Develop strong relationships to support a culture of data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement throughout the district

Qualifications and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
* Knowledge of ISG adopted standards, guiding principles and strategic goals
* Knowledge of American, British and international education standards and systems
* Knowledge of digital tools to display and analyze data
* Knowledge of K-‎12 education systems, policies and regulations related to assessment and data management
* Familiarity with assessment methodologies, techniques and best practices in education
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience
* At least five years teaching experience in K-‎12 education is essential, preferably in multiple grade levels or subjects
* In analyzing student achievement data, assessment results and other relevant data to inform curriculum decisions
* Familiarity with current trends and research in data and assessment
* Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data in an educational or related setting
* Expertise in designing and developing curriculum materials, unit plans and instructional resources
* Building strong relationships with parents, students and the community to ensure their understanding and support of data and assessment
* Coordinating assessments, including familiarity with assessment protocols and procedures
* Organizing, maintaining and managing data systems, databases or spreadsheets
* Generating reports and effectively communicating data findings to stakeholders
* Collaborating with teachers, administrators and other stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making
Skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate goals and progress to various audiences
* Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, presentations and data summaries
* Strong knowledge and understanding of educational standards, data and assessment practices
