General Area of Responsibility:
The Regional Commercial Analyst is primarily responsible for developing,
disseminating, and utilizing market intelligence to support commercial
strategy for the region. This individual is primary responsible for the
vetting of leads and opportunities, development of proposals, business cases
and financial models, and analysis of inputs from various internal and
external stakeholders to ensure opportunities are understood at a micro and
macro level.
Specific Area of Responsibility:
* Lead the process and develop business cases and financial models for use in all business development and commercial efforts.
* Lead and contribute the preparation of business proposals, tenders and quotes.
* Coordinate the efforts and inputs of the project teams, ensuring all data gathered is disseminated and updated in all internal stakeholder materials (business case memo, model, etc).
* Produce and own of all market intelligence and project-relevant data, including project pipeline, competitors and client overviews.
* Provide analytics for targeted markets and/or opportunities.
* Support relationships with clients and commercial stakeholders.
* Monitor and develop new business opportunities within the AMEA region.
* Liaise with other company function to evaluate business opportunities as well as existing market positions from commercial, financial and strategic point of view.
* Prepare compelling business cases, including writing memos and reviewing financial models.
* Liaise with headquarters' business development department.
* Occasionally or frequently travel within the region and globally to attend meetings, conferences, Regional/Group functions, etc.
Required/Preferred Education:
* Masters degree (Economics, Finance, or related)
Training and competencies:
* Must be a natural collaborator with the ability to build and develop strong business relationships with colleagues from all functions.
* Finance or Economist background preferably with experience in different countries and continents.
* High level of skill with financial modelling, risk analysis, and multiple valuation methodologies.
* Have ‎3-‎5 years working experience in corporate finance, business development, tender management and/or consulting.
* Familiar with modern marketing, sales process and business development techniques.
* Experience working under tight deadlines.
* Excellent business communication skills for both external and internal audiences.
* Good leadership and interpersonal skills, with initiative, prepared to make a difference and interact with diverse counterparts both, internally and externally.
* Have a high personal drive, high level of integrity, are structured, result oriented and proactive.
* Prior industry experience from the shipping, ports, terminals, towage, offshore or oil and gas sector is an advantage but not essential.
* Flexibility to travel (‎10-‎25%) within Africa, Middle East and Asia are a must for this role.
* Written and oral fluency in English is a key requirement of the position. Fluency in Arabic and/or French is a plus.
* Highly competent in MS Office.
