Job Summary:
Act as member of the Egypt Medical Affairs team and be a member of the field
force team. The MSL will work with the Medical Affairs team in ensuring that
Allergan successfully supports and leads the market with respect to
medical/scientific engagement interactions, and that Allergan is successful in
the positioning of its portfolio of products vs. competitors. As an internal
medical/technical/scientific resource, the MSL will have the responsibility to
fairly influence Allergan customers and ultimately impact the success of the
business. The role demands competency in practical aspects of patient care,
and ability to use medical and scientific information to facilitate engagement
of physicians and others in the clinical and basic science issues relevant to
Allergan's products. The MSL will be responsible for driving projects from
concept to execution, and thus; must be an innovative self-starter, who takes
ownership of tasks and can work independently with direction from direct
manager. The MSL will be required to perform field visits to key physicians
and stakeholders, organize advisory board meetings, facilitate clinical
trials, and serve as the medical resource for both external and internal
stakeholders. It is expected that successful candidate will exhibit the core
competencies of scientific acumen, critical thought, self-study, independence,
information sharing, resourcefulness, and the ability to give practical advice
and the ability to influence.
The primary responsibilities in supporting Allergan sales team:
Support medical and scientific aspects of Allergan's activities in the use of
products. This requires a close working relationship with key
doctors/Specialists in Egypt, as well as, other health care professionals
involved in the care and treatment of their patients. Plan and execute KOL
engagement activities, advisory board meetings, training, educational
activities, local needs for data generation, local phase IV studies and IITs.

Through field visits, improve doctors' awareness of Allergan's products, share
scientific data supporting their use, train professionals in their proper use,
and develop physicians' expertise and comfort in prescribing their use. This
is largely a customer facing role, and as such, there is an expectation of
interaction with KOLs/customers approximately ‎60% of the time, with travel
expected throughout Egypt.

Work closely with Medical Director, Egypt to set priorities, strategy and
activities of Medical Affairs. Develop and execute against a Medical Affairs
plan to support physicians and other medical professionals, as well as,
maintain Allergan's success in the BU. Work closely with the Regional Medical
Affairs team and International Therapeutic Lead to ensure alignment of local
activities with those of the region.

Identify key researchers, physicians and others critical to knowledge base and
disease awareness relevant to the success of each of Allergan's products.
Facilitate greater understanding of medical practice patterns, educational and
training needs; organize national, regional as well as local activities with
the key stakeholders. Present and communicate Allergan's scientific
perspective and vision at customer meetings; plan meeting agenda with key
stakeholders; interpret feedback and results. Ensure maintenance of key
relationships with physicians and administrators.

Keep updated of the current status of the scientific developments in Egypt,
Asia-Pacific and globally; attend key relevant medical congresses locally, and
as requested, internationally for the purpose of extending medical knowledge,
supporting the commercial team with medical expertise, establishing new
business relationships, and strengthening existing relationships

Work closely with commercial team to conduct or facilitate training to
physicians, and provide proper influence on TLs and doctors externally. Help
shape the company's leadership image in Egypt.

Ensure the future success of Allergan, by identifying doctors-in-training with
special interests which lie within the company's therapeutic range and
fostering relationships through educational initiatives.

Identify and prioritize phase IV and investigator initiated study needs;
ensure that the approval process and execution of all phase IV and IITs follow
Allergan guidelines and policies.

Facilitate training to field sales personnel and others to ensure up to date
knowledge of Allergan's products and relevant disease states and conditions.
Assist in the evaluation of sales team members' skill and knowledge levels
with regular Q & A sessions. Assist in the development of training materials,
exams and evaluative process for field sales personnel. Provide interpretation
and perspective to competitor activities

Education and Experience
* Science degree (B Pharm, nursing, Pharm D, MSc or PhD) required.
* Prior pharmaceutical commercial/sales experience or an MBA highly desirable
* Minimum ‎5 years of post-qualification work experience; experience working in pharmaceutical industry, overseas education or work experience desirable
* Experience in clinical research including phase IV studies desirable
Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies (includes Licenses,

* Ability to quickly learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively to individuals with varying degrees of scientific acumen
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Arabic & English), strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships; to lead, engage and influence
* Ability to work cross-functionally/collaboratively in a matrixed structure, supporting multiple stakeholders
* Strong presentation and teaching skills, and ability to share information with others
* Strong analytical skills, with ability to critically evaluate and effectively communicate key clinical data
* Strong project management skills and decision-making ability
* Strong planning skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and work independently
* Computer literacy, PowerPoint skills
* Ability to travel about ‎40% of the work time.
