The Role
As part of increasing demand for mapping tasks, we are hiring a Senior
Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist to support our existing GIS
team. The selected candidate has to associate with various environmental
projects being carried out in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of the
Vision 2030 initiatives.
Responsibilities
To support Beacon Development in its daily Geographic Information System (GIS)
routines such as environmental data collection, storage, and analysis, quality
control and assurance, layout design, and data visualization.
* Prepare online maps, dashboards, and data visualization interfaces;
* Create mobile-based field survey data collection forms, field staff training, and troubleshooting;
* Collate survey data and generate online interactive maps to display survey summary;
* Share data collection forms and online maps with stakeholders ensuring data security;
* Create maps using cartographic standards for reporting;
* Perform spatial analysis by integrating various thematic layers and generate statistics to help evaluate the environmental impacts;
* Perform data conversions as required between various spatial data formats;
* Support environmental data collection from satellite imageries, drone imagery, and online resources;
* Prepare metadata, data dictionary and support in data delivery and data archiving.
Profile and Requirements
* BSc or MSc in Science/Engineering/GIS/Computer Application/ or a related field;
* Total 5+ years' professional work experience;
* Proficient in esri software packages;
* Minimum 3 years' experience in ArcGIS online;
* Minimum 3 years' experience in field survey form design using ArcGIS survey 123, and survey 123 connect;
* Capable to work both in field and office environments;
* Experience in environmental database management (preferred);
* Experience in Python scripting, JavaScript, and ArcPy (preferred);
* KSA experience (preferred).
