Head of Commissioning

The candidate shall be assigned to oversee a regionally based integrated
Commissioning team for projects within the Middle East, North Africa, and
Europe. Candidate, depending on experience, may also be eligible to oversee
the commissioning team as well.

The local team is composed of a diverse range of experts who lead their
respective fields, including LEED APs, PQPs, official Estidama trainers,
commissioning authorities (CxA), construction managers, MBAs, and building
physics PhDs. We also have commissioning authorities and consultants based in
Munich, London, New York City, and other prominent global locations.
Our current projects include The Abu Dhabi midfield Terminal Building, The
Msheireb urban redevelopment project, Johnson Controls Research Center, SKMC
Dialysis Center, Sowwah Square Abu Dhabi, and several other high profile
projects in the EU and GCC.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Operations

• Team Leader


• Monitoring the Commissioning team


• Operations Planning, Forecasting and Management of Commissioning Team;


• Responsibility for the day-to-day operations in line with Alpin's mission statement and core values (http://www.alpinme.com/about/vision-statement/);


• Guiding and leading team in carrying out specific global and local projects such as sustainable building projects, commissioning, energy modeling, etc.;


• Quality control and review of reports;


• Understanding and implementing the principles of project management (scheduling, resource leveling, leading effective meetings, client relations);


• Overseeing P&L for division;


• Ensuring that H.R procedures are followed by the team;


• Providing technical input on solutions to issues with facility operation identified during the commissioning and startup process to the responsible engineer;


• Leading the effort for the ongoing digital transformation process of the division, advising management on core software to be implemented for the department;


• Assisting and guiding the project managers as required in preparing the overall commissioning and startup procedures and manuals; and;


• Management and governance of the Commissioning documentation process as well as project specification, calculation, plans, and submittal for compliance. This position is over ‎50% management with periodic project consultancy.

• Supporting the business development team in developing, pricing, and negotiating agreements for the relevant services.
  HSE Roles, Responsibilities, and Accountability:


• Role: Health, Safety, and Environment Officer


• Responsibility: As defined in IMS_01, Clause ‎5.5.‎1 "Responsibility and Authority"


• Accountability: Accountable for ensuring the right resources are allocated for the proper implementation and functioning of the Company's Health, Safety, and Environment procedures and mandates as defined in the Company's IMS.
  Skills:


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering,


• LEED GA/AP and/or PQP credential ( Optional and Preferable)


• ASHRAE CPMP


• ‎2-‎5 years of HVAC and controls experience in design, construction, energy evaluation, and Commissioning;


• ‎3-‎5 years of commissioning management experience;


• Knowledge of current sustainability standards: LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, QSAS, or Estidama;


• "Confident and has " presence" in front of clients in terms of managing the commissioning process"


• Understanding and experience with the practice of Commissioning in accordance with ASHRAE Guideline ‎0 and other related guidelines.

• Understanding of complex HVAC, lighting, and control systems, including an ability to evaluate and troubleshoot.


• Knowledge of TAB procedures and theory.


• Understand and familiar with governing codes (Riyadh Code, CMC, CBC, CEC, CFC etc..) and standards (ASHRAE)


• GCC experience;


• Excellent written & spoken English (ability to understand contract language);


• Passport that allows travel within the GCC and European Union without restrictions;


• ‎10-‎15 years of experience in the industry;


• Proven experience leading and motivating teams. Strong facilitation, team building and collaboration skills;


• Advanced Presentation and Communication skills. Clear, concise and effective;


• Experience in New Business Development;


• Highly motivated and self-directed with a track record of rapid career advancement;


• High degree of professionalism with an ability to interact with others at all levels;


• A belief in pushing the boundaries of the construction industry;


• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
