Summary:
The work schedule for this position is Full time (‎40 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period

Duties


Basic Function of the Position:


Serves as the primary consular cashier and as one of seven Visa Assistants in
the Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) Unit. Collects consular fees, prepares Automated
Cash Register System (ACRS) reports, and is the primary timekeeper for the
Consular Section. Performs a variety of NIV functions and is responsible for
processing a full range of visa applications in an applicant pool made up of
over ‎120 nationalities. Determines applicant readiness for interview and
expedited processing, presence of fraud indicators, and prints and quality
controls issued visas. Evaluates and responds to routine and complex inquiries
- written, oral and telephonic - in an autonomous manner and drafts security
advisory opinion requests. Uses high level subject matter knowledge to
complete duties and respond to inquiries. Serves one or more back-up duties as
requested by the Consul General.


Qualifications and Evaluations


Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years' experience of visa work or other related
consular work, including consular cashier duties is required.

Education Requirements:
Completion of two years of post-secondary education at college or university
level is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: This may be tested.


Level IV (fluency speaking/reading/writing) English is required.


Level IV (fluency speaking/reading/writing) Arabic or Farsi or Hindi or Urdu
or Tagalog is required.
