Responsibilities:
The Machine Shop Production Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing and
managing the production activities within a machine shop facility. This
position is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely production of
components and parts. The Production Coordinator coordinates the efforts of
machine operators, machinists, and support staff to meet production goals
while adhering to quality and safety standards.
The Machine Shop Production Coordinator position is a critical role
responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe production of components vital
to the industry. This position requires strong leadership, technical
expertise, and a commitment to quality and safety.

* Supervisors & Managers should demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety arrangements of all subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
PRODUCTION PLANNING:
* Collaborate with the production manager to establish production schedules and prioritize work orders.
* Plan and allocate resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials, to meet production targets.
* Monitor and adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate changes in customer orders or machine availability.
SUPERVISION AND TEAM MANAGEMENT:
* Lead a team of machinists, machine operators, and support personnel.
* Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure that team members perform their duties effectively and safely.
* Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the machine shop.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:
* Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials, tooling, and supplies required for production.
* Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies as needed.
* Minimize waste and optimize material usage to reduce costs.

QUALITY
* Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System
* Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement
* Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that all manufactured components meet industry standards and customer specifications.
* Conduct inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues promptly.
* Collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve quality-related concerns.

OPERATIONS
Maintenance and Equipment:
* Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and repairs of machinery and equipment.
* Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
Reporting and Documentation:
* Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production reports, machine utilization, and inventory levels.
* Generate performance metrics and reports to evaluate the efficiency of the machine shop operations.
* Communicate production status and any issues to management regularly.
Continuous Improvement:
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the machine shop.
* Implement Lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to optimize production processes.

COMMUNICATION
* Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
* Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports
FINANCIAL
* All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
* Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT

Authority

• To report any unsafe behaviors to their immediate supervisor or safety representative


• Authority on QHSE grounds to stop operations or delivery of product or service on the existence of an immediate risk of harm to personnel, environment, company property or other circumstances which may negatively affect product/service quality.
  Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field (preferred).


• ‎5-‎10 Years of relevant experience in machine shop operations, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.


• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong leadership and communication skills.


• Proficiency in production planning and scheduling/rute card in JDE.


• Knowledge of machining processes and equipment.


• Familiarity with quality control and safety standards.


• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.


• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
