Summary
ISG Jubail seeks a dynamic Math and Physics teacher with a passion for leading
high school students to construct their own understanding of science guided by
the NGSS standards and IBDP framework. This person would demonstrate a
commitment to a well-rounded and flexible Math & Science program that
encompasses interdisciplinary connections, literacy, authentic/relevant
learning experiences, and that aligns with the IB Mission and Approaches to
Teaching and Learning. The ideal candidate will be passionate about guiding
the learning of high school students in particular and understand the
importance of that age range both for the individual student, their future
aspirations, and for the life of the school. ISG Jubail has a strong sense of
community. The successful candidate would be committed to contributing to the
whole school community beyond the confines of the Math and Science program.

Specifically with regards to Math & Physics/High School Science, the
successful candidate will be able to effectively:
* Deliver IB Math & Physics instruction according to IBDP course guide and principles of best practices
* Scaffold student construction of their own understanding of scientific concepts
* Create an environment where students passionately exercise agency in pursuing Math & Science
* Develop and foster interdisciplinary connections to the learning of Math & Science.
* Be a champion for high school students, high school learning, and the high school program
* Contribute to the creation and revision of the Math & Science curriculum
* Share interests and passions with students through the after-school program
Qualifications and Knowledge
The candidate must have:
* Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
The ideal candidate will have:
* Deep pedagogical content knowledge in Math and Science
* Current certification/licensure to teach Math and Science
* An advanced degree in a related field of study
* Knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
* Knowledge of Understanding by Design (UbD) principles
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience
* Teaching Math & Physics at the high school level in an international context
* Previous Math & Physics teaching experience, or at an equivalent level
* Leading and inspiring students to be informed and inspired community members and leaders
* Organizing student projects and performance tasks
* Designing interdisciplinary units of inquiry
* Documenting curriculum according to Understanding by Design (UbD) principles
* Designing programs based on the NGSS Standards
* Collaborating in a professional setting with large and small groups of colleagues
* Leading groups of students and faculty
