Role purpose:
The EUS IDS Specialist is responsible for maintaining a quality Desktop
environment for the MENA; provide second level support to the client delivery
and support team; manage evergreening initiatives, control patch releases,
desktop imaging process setup, Desktop infrastructure components running on
servers and mass deployments.
The technical specialist must also ensure adherence to HSBC Group processes
and procedures, compliance guidelines and Information security.
Impact on the Business/Function
* Deliver a number of high quality complex services for customers.
* Review business desktop and laptops requests. Inputting into Business requests and IT business cases.
* Support computing platforms, desktop operating system and applications for HBEG and the on-going systems support of live systems.
* Undertake the design, implementation and maintenance of a stable and reliable environment for the desktop infrastructure in line with service agreements.
* Manage Egypt Microsoft licensing adoption agreement and costs.
* Respond to Central Bank of Egypt CyberSecurity monthly assessments within assigned deadlines.
* Work with Egypt CyberSec teams on reporting & remediating gaps identified from the CBE Cybersecurity framework gap analysis if any .
* Support local Central Bank of Egypt services and applications from an EUS perspective along with local service owners. CBE has specific requirements like having a VPN client software on our endpoints to tunnel onto their network to use their applications needed by business.
* Manage regional (non-centralized) deployments for all of MENAT markets excl. Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
* Support our Egypt country operations teams for both the HBEG bank and Egypt GSC as well.
Ensure internal risk & controls and cyber teams for external audit /
assessments.

* All HBEG users are key stakeholders.
* Field support and user support teams, liaising and sharing with them any plan for a change or implementing a new project or systems also provide them a 2nd level support and consultancy.
* Information Security, ensuring our practices and activities are all comply with the IT security policies.

Leadership & Teamwork
* Work effectively as part of a team to drive infrastructure deliverables and infrastructure Support requirements.
* Work as part of a wider team undertaking delivery of projects and BAU requests confirming to project management standards, guidelines and techniques.
* Participate in the testing / piloting of new services / application.
* Managing projects implementations and general business moves and changes.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
* Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behavior.
* Implement the Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant compliance department. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
* Adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls.
Requirements
Quallifications
* A broad understanding of the underlying business supported by the technical environment.
* Good knowledge of hardware, software, operations, system configuration, performance, MS Products.
* Project management skills with a proven ability in delivering projects and technical problem determination skills.
* Ability to prioritize own work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing technical environment.
* Communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships.
* Good level of technical expertise with the ability to react rapidly and effectively to change.
* Sound understanding of service management techniques, including change management, incident management, Data Centre Operations and configuration management.
* Ability to share technical knowledge to assist developing of other team members.
