How can you make a difference?
Under the supervision of the Education Specialist (Level ‎3), the Education
Officer develops and manages education interventions targeting most
marginalized children in Egypt
. The Education Officer contributes to the
achievement of results to improve equitable access to education and learning
outcomes, especially for children who are marginalized, through the
application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting,
analyzing and presenting technical programme information.
Summary of key results:
This post will support programme development and planning in emergency related
programmes. Development of the Regional Refugee & Resilience Plan and Provide
technical and administrative support throughout all stages of programming to
government counterparts, NGO partners, UN system partners.
Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues and partners to collect,
analyze and share information on implementation issues, also suggesting
solutions on routine programme implementation.
The position will be responsible about monitoring and evaluation exercises,
programme reviews and annual sectoral reviews with government and other
counterparts. Monitoring and reporting on the use of sectoral programme
resources, verify compliance with approved allocation, organizational rules,
regulations/procedures and donor commitments, standards of accountability and
integrity.
* Preparing draft inputs for programme/donor reporting, monthly Situation
Reports and ActivityInfo.
Participating in inter-agency (UNCT) meetings and events on programming to
collaborate with inter-agency partners.
Research information on potential donors and prepare resource mobilization
materials and briefs for fund raising and partnership development purposes.
Responsible about applying innovative approaches and promote good practice and
participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives to enhance
the competencies of clients/stakeholders; as well as participating as a

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have …
* A university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.
* A minimum of two years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
* Experience working with refugees and migrants is required.
* Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
* Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
Selection Criteria:
In line with the above required qualifications, selection criteria/grading
will be based on the following:
* Professional experience in programme planning and management
* Experience in working and coordination with the government
* Experience in working with and refugees/migrant communities
* Experience in working in a UN system agency or organization

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by
the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is
required for IP positions. Appointments are also be subject to inoculation
(vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-‎2 (Covid). Government
employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required
to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF.
UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without
compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary
inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any
reason.
