The Kitchen Department
manages all aspects of the food production including hygiene and safety. It
also ensures that guests are provided with an excellent and bespoke culinary
experience.
Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
* Assist the kitchen team as directed in the efficient running of any of the food preparation sections in the kitchen
* Ensuring as directed that all food is prepared to the correct temperatures (as laid down by the Food Safety Act) and that it is probed and logged before service
* Ensure all cooked food stuffs are stored correctly and in the correct Fridges
* Ensure as directed that refrigeration temperature logs are being maintained
* When required, man the food servery
* Report any faults on kitchen equipment to the Head Chef/Duty Chef
* Carry out general cleaning tasks according to the cleaning schedule to maintain cleanliness of the kitchen
* Due diligence must be demonstrated fully at all times
* Attend and participate in all team briefings
* Occasionally may be required to run a quiet service
* To be aware of all relevant emergency and evacuation procedures.
* To carry out any request made by the Head Chef/senior chef on duty which has not been specified in this document.
To move into this position you should have
* This opportunity is exclusively available to individuals with a currently valid transferable residence visa in Kuwait.
* Minimum one year of service in current position
* Minimum ‎2 Years experience in ‎5 hotels
* Team worker with a great attitude to work under pressure
* Good conversational skill in English
* Hotel School Certificate is an advantage
* Good personality & ‎5 appearance
* Excellent culinary catering talent
* Cold / Hot / Asian / Continental & Banqueting experience
* Basic Food & Hygiene training certification
* Good knowledge and understanding of the kitchen and its operations
* Demonstrate energy and enthusiasm at work
* Knowledge of procedures and methods used in the preparation, production, presentation and storage of food items is required
