JOB PURPOSE:
Perform a variety of underwriting functions to review and evaluate
applications for new business, changes and renewals for coverage. Provide risk
evaluation and price setting. Focus is on group products.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
* Analyzes for varying cases by running manual calculations or preparing experience rated quotes. May contact sales force to gather information.
* Participates in initial strategy meetings and researches previous related project work.
* Underwrites small and medium sized cases

External: Brokers / Agents
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
* Bachelors degree is a must
* Basic knowledge of group products and services.
* Moderate knowledge of underwriting rules, policies, and procedures and insurance principles.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
* Strong focus on customers
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Moderate data analysis skills.
