Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic team player to provide support to the legal
team across multiple practice areas, as well as to other internal stakeholders
throughout GFG both within the UK and internationally, from its head office in
Dubai.
The GFG legal team is committed to developing its internal talent as a major
component for the success of the business as a whole. As such, there is scope,
for the right candidate, to progress their career from paralegal to trainee
solicitor (and beyond). This role would be ideal for anyone wanting to follow
a career in-house, from the start.
The ideal candidate will have excellent academics and a desire to pursue a
career in law, particularly in an in-house environment.
The successful candidate will report into the General Counsel, Middle East,
but will work closely with the entire legal team in supporting the varied
businesses of GFG, gaining exposure to a number of practice areas including
banking/finance, corporate, IP, and dispute resolution. The candidate will
also be expected to work closely with their colleagues in the wider business,
gaining exposure to the day-to-day commercial realities of a global business
and will have the opportunity to provide practical application of their legal
skillset on a commercial basis.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
* Review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including NDAs, T&Cs;, and engagement letters.
* Draft external correspondence.
* Support and work with the legal team on transactions.
* Assist with general BAU work.
* Prepare memoranda of advice/conduct legal research, as well as provide support on legal developments and other updates of interest to GFG's businesses.
* Maintain corporate precedents/records for the benefit of the legal team/business.
* Prepare Companies House filings and draft board minutes.
* Liaise with external counsel and assist members of the legal team generally; and
* Perform such other duties as requested by the legal team.
A mix of internal and external training (provided by our panel firms) will be
provided throughout the course of your career with GFG.
