Finance Manager

Job Purpose: As a Finance Manager Outstation Support you will plan and manage
all finance reporting and accounting processes for stations in Oracle,
ensuring quality and timeliness of reconciliations, month and year-end closing
and other accounting functions. In addition to the above you will have overall
responsibility for the station accounting cell located at Head Office, and for
planning strategies for utilising the accounting cell in each new station set-
up as and when required, and allocating resources accordingly. To be placed
temporarily at any station in EK's network and manage all the financial and
administrative activities for the station in accordance with Corporate
Financial and HR policies of EK and local legislation. Provide critical
support to Assistant Managers and other country management team/s so that
decisions are taken with full knowledge and awareness of financial
implications and Head Office can exercise effect Role accountabilities: -
Develop and implement suitable strategies for each new station accounting
process and allocation of Finance personnel, taking into account the needs and
circumstances of each geographical location and resource constraints. -
Develop and maintain processes for stations to report to HO for timely
accounting in Oracle Financials and ensure high standard of accounting,
accuracy and timeliness in monthly, quarterly, six-monthly and yearly closing
for stations with Oracle Financials. - Monitor accounting standards to
highlight any issues or exceptions in order to mitigate the risks of stations
whose accounting is carried out by the station accounting cell. - Participate
and contribute in user requirement and specification stages of Oracle
Financials development to ensure increased productivity, efficiency and
effectiveness of the system. - Plan and maintain day to day station financial
transactions for the stations. Ensure that day today station activities are
carried out smoothly without interruption. Perform reconciliation of
outstanding transactions, stock records, accounts reconciliation, co-
ordinating with different internal departments like Credit Control, Revenue
Accounts, Accounts Payables, Payroll, Management Accounts, HR and Commercial.
Formulate finance procedures relating to the accounting cell. - Direct, guide
and provide relevant analysis and information to the internal and external
auditors in order that they can complete thorough reviews of the accounting
cell. - Perform closing checks for all assigned outstation and group entities.
Ensure accurate and complete accounting in the respective set of books. -
Identify the training need for the Shared Services team. - Manage the
performance and development of the Outstations Support team to ensure overall
objectives of the section are achieved.
Qualifications & Experience: Qualifications: Relevant Degree or Honours (‎12+‎3
or equivalent) Experience: Finance & Insurance. Systems & Procedures ‎8+yrs
Knowledge/skills: A recognised professional accounting qualification to the
standard of Chartered Accountant, CPA or similar with relevant post
qualification experience. Knowledge: Expert knowledge of airline accounting
procedures and familiarity with IATA regulations with regard to Passenger /
Cargo / Excess Baggage sales is essential as well as knowledge of rules and
procedures under the local laws to take care of statutory requirements as
necessary. Sound knowledge of systems & automated accounting packages is
preferred. Other: Please note that travel will be required in this role since
the scope of the role will cover outstation finance support as and when
required.
