IN-FLIGHT DOCTOR

provide the highest standard of evidence based medical care for company staff
and their dependents, within the quality and accreditation standards to meet
General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
regulatory requirements, whilst remaining within strict budgetary controls.
This role will be focussed on providing clinical direction to our crew and
pilots when they become ill or injured overseas, as well as provide clinical
support to our crew who are managing inflight medical emergencies for our
passengers. What you will do - Maintain all licences required to meet the
regulatory requirements of the DHA (and GCAA if required) to operate as a
licenced Doctor and/or Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). This includes but is
not limited to meeting stipulated continuing medical education (CME)
requirements. - Provide appropriate telephone based medical advice and
recommendations for passengers pre-departure. This includes gate screening and
on board pre departure assessments and recommendation of fitness to travel. -
Provide appropriate telephone based, telemedicine supported medical advice and
recommendations for passengers in flight, supporting the cabin crew in their
in-flight management of medical concerns and emergencies - Provide appropriate
telephone based, telemedicine supported medical advice and recommendations for
passengers in flight, supporting the Captain and Network Control in decisions
around diversions for life threatening conditions and situations. - Provide
appropriate telephone based medical advice and recommendations for Flight Deck
and Cabin Crew outstation. This will include case management with outstation
hospitals and medical providers including assessment of fitness to fly to
return to base either operating or as a passenger.
Qualifications & Experience: This job might be for you if you have: - Degree
or Honours, MBChB, MBBS, MD, or the equivalent medical degree from an
accredited university medical school. - Licensed as a Specialist or Consultant
with the DHA or ability to gain such registration in line with DHA PQR -
Qualifications and experience satisfactory to the EK Clinic privileging
committee for credentialing in specific specialist area - GCAA designation as
an AME (or ability to be designated as an AME) is advantageous. You'll have an
edge if you have: - Current medical registration with a recognised medical
board or council is required along with qualifications and minimum experience
acceptable to the DHA for licensing and to the Emirates Airline Clinic
privileging committee. - A fellowship or membership to one of the Royal
Colleges or equivalent is preferred. - Excellent stakeholder management -
