Founded and headquartered in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, BitOasis is a
leading venture-backed, regulated virtual assets retail trading and custody
platform for the GCC and wider Middle East and North Africa region. BitOasis
shareholders combine best-in-class regional VCs such as Wamda Capital with
global virtual asset investors such as Jump Capital, Pantera Capital, and
Digital Currency Group.
BitOasis operates under the supervision of the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory
Authority (VARA) and is in the process of acquiring virtual assets licenses
and approvals across the region.

Job Description

BitOasis is now seeking to hire a Legal Counsel based out of Dubai to support
its corporate, commercial legal and regulatory activities across its business.
We strongly believe that this is one of the most exciting in-house fintech and
virtual asset roles regionally for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Manage the legal functions for ‎2 regulated virtual asset service provider platforms.
* Manage the legal negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts including with a range of service providers typically associated with a platform such as BitOasis including but not limited to payment service providers, financial institutions, strategic partners, marketing partners, KYC and compliance service providers, custodians.
* Advise business owners on entry into such agreements in accordance with internal service level agreements for the legal function.
* Managing legal and contractual life-cycles starting with non-disclosure agreements, contracts, renewals and terminations.
* Advise product owners on structuring the launch of new products generally and in accordance with regulated activity requirements.
* Advising on the implementation of intra-group agreements including intra-group outsourcing arrangements.
* Working with public policy and compliance leaders on regulatory engagement and on-going compliance with license requirements and license applications.
* Maintain customer terms of services that are appropriate for BitOasis' regulated platforms and the jurisdictions from which they operate.
* Handle the full range of administrative legal matters including in relation to (a) group entity formations and on-going local statutory compliance; (b) employment matters; (c) leasing matters with the support of external legal counsel.
* Maintain a panel of law firms across primary jurisdictions to support on on-going and ad hoc local law matters.
* Manage any contentious/litigious matters as and when they arise with the support of external legal counsel.
* Support where required in a company secretarial capacity for group entities including drafting minutes of meetings and resolutions.

Qualifications
* ‎4-‎6 years post qualification experience combining international law firm and in-house roles.
* Admission in a common law jurisdiction.
* Experience working within a regulated environment or with a fintech or virtual asset business or strongly preferred.
* Experience working in the United Arab Emirates or GCC preferred.
