Job Overview:
Supervise Quality Control activites to determine product conformity to
customer specification through effective inspection and test in accordance
with the Project Quality plan. Identify non-conformity and take appropriate
action to control / prevent them. Conducts QA audits as applicable to verify
the product is in compliance with project specification and procedures. Liaise
with Barge Superintendent, Deck Foreman, Barge Admin Personnel, Principal
Metallurgy Specialist, Operations Engineer, Field Engineer, Certifying
Authority, Customer representative, Principal Quality Operations Specialist -
Offshore QC Coordination, Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM).
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Guide, Supervise and Participate in inspection activities to assure product quality.
* Follow quality planning for the project to assure compliance through proactive measure. Consults with the Manager Assurance and Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM) concerning Non-conforming products and respective corrective & prevention plan.
* Initiate evaluation for non-conforming products and processes when encountered.
* Liaise with customer representative, Barge Superintendent, Field Engineers, Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM), Principal Quality Operations Specialist - Offshore QC Coordination, NDT / Certification / Welding Engineering Personnel to ensure that quality problems are addressed and technically resolved in line with project requirements.
* Appraise product quality in accordance with the Project Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan and determine conformity and non-conformity.
* All inspection results need to be documented and if non-conformity exists required documentation shall be raised to establish corrective and preventive actions.
* Provide interpretation of applicable code specifications and customer requirements. Any deviation deemed necessary to be raised with Manager Assurance and Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM) to address it through approved change management process such as SQS, TQ, Concession request, Waivers etc.
* Verify Quality inspector's effectiveness of their ability, job knowledge, punctuality and generation of inspection report through periodic competency assessment.
* Exercise proactive approach in prevention of a problem by interface with Field Engineers and customer representative on board in conjuction with Manager Assurance.
* Ensure adequate coordination and controls including resources are in place with respect to offshore operations by liaising with relevant parties.
* Conduct internal audits as applicable to assess the effectiveness of Quality System outlined in Project Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan.
* Responsible for completion of as-built QC documentation on board and ensure that all documents shall be dispatched to Principal Quality Ops Specialist (CQM) / Certification Supervisor through Principal Quality Operations Specialist - Offshore QC Coordination.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
* ‎3 years Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering degree / Diploma or equivalent.
* ‎8+ years quality control or related experience on welding, painting and material inspection.
* ‎3+ years directly relating to supervision.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
* AWS / CSWIP, NACE Qualification.
Project / Area / Regional Specifics:
* MENA client's approval as QC Supervisor (Offshore).
